Mitt Romney will call senior donors at 11 a.m. ET Friday to give them “an update” on his campaign plans. Sources have told The Daily Beast that the former Massachusetts governor will announce his intention to explore a third run for the White House. Romney and his senior aides believe he is the best placed candidate to defeat Hillary Clinton. In a memo sent by Romney to his inner circle Thursday, he highlighted three reasons he should run: He thinks he’s the only qualified Republican in the field, polling is favorable to a win, and he thinks he can do better as a campaigner in 2016. Romney had originally intended to wait until later in the cycle but the bullish entry of Jeb Bush into the field encouraged him to jump early.

Millions are convinced he is still a conservative since he has sucked all the life out of Rick Santorum, the 2012 runner-up who might otherwise have his turn.
Remember that Huck's major contribution in 2008 was as a Judas Goat to ensure that we got McCain in 2008 and Romney in 2012.
He somehow thinks he is entitled to 2016 as the real runner-up in 2008, by sole virtue of winning a few more delegates than Romney since Romney dropped out after Super Tuesday in February and Huck stayed in as the sole McCain alternative.
Awesome. Let him and Jeb beat up on each other and split the GOPe vote.
If Mitt had smeared Obama the way he smeared Newt in the Primaries he would already be President. Trump was right he choked and he might choke again.

Well in Feb, 2008 he gave his announcement of his intention to run for president in 2012..
His speech at the convention was a campaign speech..
I wouldn’t say he ever stopped running though..

Mitt missed his time slot in 2012.
He bungled the campaign against a vulnerable Obama who was damaged by his Obamacare program and other policies.
In 2008 Obama received 69.4 million votes.
In 2012 he only received 59.8 million votes.
The opportunity was there for a Romney victory but he did not inspire voters to turn out.
In fact, he received fewer votes in 2012 than McCain did in 2008.
This time around Mitt’s candidacy will only add confusion to the primaries and end up helping the democrats.
If Hillary is the 2016 candidate it will be a much more difficult election to win than the 2012 matchup.
