Republican Rep. Alan Nunnelee has been moved to hospice care following a seven-month fight with cancer.
Morgan Baldwin, a consultant for the Mississippi Republican, said in a statement that doctors found a new tumor in Nunnelee and that “no further medical treatment is possible.”
“After seven months of bravely fighting brain cancer and a stroke, Congressman Alan Nunnelee was informed last Friday that a new tumor has developed and no further medical treatment is possible,” Baldwin said. “On Monday of this week, Alan came home and is resting comfortably with family. The family continues to ask for your prayers and requests privacy out of respect for Congressman Nunnelee.”

Washington has some major foot fungus! And possibly an ingrown toenail.
Once Dr. Daye gets his foot in the door, he will go toe-to-toe with John Boehner and will nail him if he goes wobbly. Plus, Dr. Daye can recite Article I of the Constitution from memory and is a real fun guy! (Get it? Fungi?)
Oh, and did I mention that Dr. Daye also got his Realtor’s license? Capital-R, baby! He’s got qualifications in spades.
I don’t know anything about the field. Based on what little I know, I support Nancy Collins, but I’m far from committed. Mississippi Freepers’ input is appreciated.
As the only State legislator in the mix (which surprises me) Collins is the first one I looked at. This is based on a cursory examination mind you but I don’t like the cut of her gib. Too much talk of “bipartisanship”. Working with the deposed state democrats is the last thing anyone in MS or any Southern state needs to be doing.
Mike Tagert seems like another potential frontrunner.
Trent Kelly is mentioned as one on a lib blog I found.
We’ll need to see who has money to see who’s serious.
