If Russia is to become Greece’s benefactor, it will be with strings attached. That should be grounds for booting Greece from NATO. And while we are at it, let’s turf Turkey as well.

This piece is missing the biggest factor; Turkey.

The Greeks have hated the Turks for generations and this is the primary reason for their high Military spending.

The Russians have also hated the Turks for generations.

Now we have an increasingly more Islamist Turkey, who want to revive the old Ottoman Caliphate; not the ISIS flavor Caliphate.

The Greeks are aware of this and so are the Russians.

It makes sense that they would try to force the Turks to defend on two fronts now that the US cannot be counted on to do anything constructive, (at least for the next two years).
