February 2nd is Chris Kyle Day, declared Texas Governor Greg Abbott. Abbott announced his intention to make the declaration official later today. The slain hero has come under fire recently as left-of-center celebrities and media personalities have insisted that patriotic Americans honoring Kyle were, in essence, worshiping a coward and a soldier who went on killing sprees, despite the fact that Kyles shooting has been credited with saving the lives of countless numbers of U.S. soldiers.

Governor Abbott announced Chris Kyle Day during a recent speech at the Texans Veterans of Foreign Affairs Mid-Winter Convention. His speech is provided below:

Then, when the al-Qaeda prairie dog pokes its head out of its hidey-hole, you snipe it.
I like the idea, don’t think it goes that far. I am starting to like Abbott
Anyone who can make a 2000 meter sniper shot while under fire should indeed have a holiday named after him.
Meanwhile, the trial for his murderer begins next week about 10 miles from here.
