Ashley Judd for governor? The actress tells Larry King it's a possibility

She’ll have to wait at least one election cycle if she decides to run, but Hollywood actress Ashley Judd is still flirting with Kentucky politics, telling Larry King a governorship sounds “interesting.”

Judd, who came within a breath of challenging Republican U.S. Sen. Mitch McConnell in last year’s election, told talk show host Larry King that she is intrigued by the position of governor in Kentucky — laying out a potential platform.

“Governor seems like an interesting position too, particularly in Kentucky, where we have a mono-economy, really abusive mineral extraction, pervasive poverty, low educational attainment,” Judd said on King’s Ora TV show “Larry King Now” Friday.

“We’re really low on all the different social indices and because of my work in developing economies I actually — both as a Kentuckian and someone who’s traveled around the world a lot — have a deep bench on that stuff. And so that seemed like a possibility, but I also want to emphasize that I know that right now, I’m exactly where I am supposed to be.”

Unlike her potential run for U.S. Senate, Judd does not qualify to run for governor. A candidate must be at least 30 years old and be a state resident for six years.

Judd bought a house in Ashland in March of 2013, according to a report by The Lexington Herald-Leader.

Kentuckians will elect the state’s next governor this fall. Attorney General Jack Conway is the only prominent Democrat in the race while Agriculture Commissioner James Comer, Louisville real estate developer Hal Heiner, former state Supreme Court Justice Will T. Scott and former U.S. Senate candidate Matt Bevin are vying for the GOP nomination.

Wow, so deeply delusional.

The words being spewed out of the mouth of this idiot show the arrogance and ignorance of liberals. She essentially compares Kentucky to a third world nation and thinks being governor would be the same thing as a UNICEF mission overseas. The woman is a clown.

I love how these celebrity wannabe politicians always want to start off in a high office. Does she have any administrative or executive experience that would be key to her successfully governing a state? I didn’t think so. If she wants to get involved in Kentucky, why doesn’t she start out in the legislature?

"....have a deep bench on that stuff."

OK, describe your qualifications, airhead! Be specific, no mealy mouthed liberal generalities.

Maybe she could run for dog catcher, a position for which she is also unqualified.

I agree with everything but one.

At one time she actually was quite pretty but only on the outside. I suspect she is getting old enough that she will not even have that very much longer if she even still has it now.

IIRC, there is an image of her with a T-shirt that reads "This is what a feminist looks like" or something similar. Within the last week, I saw a TV ad with a female describing how it is acceptable for girls to have boys pay for dinner dates. As the woman continued to speak, with graphics behind her, she said ( in so many words) that while he spends his money on you, you can save your money and buy books on feminism. This is what we are teaching you girls? Liberalism is surely a mental illness.

“Hell, I thought he died ten years ago at least.”

You are partially right, he just looks dead! A sort of perambulating corpse with big glasses and suspenders!

She’s a lefty ‘tard all right, and there are quite a few in ‘new country’ music.
I still listen mostly to the music that was played over the AM radio in my grandparent’s Chevys, ‘60s, ‘70s Oklahoma.
Ashley & Co. can go chase their tails.

She is apparently unaware of the colleges that exist in Kentucky. There are a number, including the first college in this country, (now a university,)west of the Alleghenies. I don’t think she actually has had much acquaintance with the actual people of Kentucky.
