FR is now taking advice from Media Matters?
Clearly they know (better than Jeb) that immigration is a touchy issue with conservative voters.
I expect MM to push hard on targeting Walker, trying to damage him enough so we get stuck with Jeb.
MM knows they can beat Jeb.
no, because there is a huge difference between supporting amnesty and supporting a pathway to citizenship that involves the illegals going back to their own country and getting in line to enter like everyone else.
Media Matters is now focusing its’ liberal guns on Walker because they fear him. Have you noticed they haven’t taken any shots at jeb?
Its not amnesty, they will have to pay a $10 fine (err processing fee) before they get full citizenship.
That will teach them to come here illegally.
Cant send foreigners the wrong message or they all will be here.
BTW : Obama is giving illegals the EITC by executive order.
Even Dems say they are against amnesty.
Now FR is siding with the Media Matters, a lying left wing org?
We need to resolve the issue of millions of illegal aliens living within our country. That is the more complicated problem and will take some outside the box thinking. And it will involve Mexico and other Latin American countries.
But first we have to stop the secure the borders.
does it matter at present?
I would suggest that writers with no real news to report are mountainizing what amounts to a mole hill
Flip-flop?
Nooooooooooooooooooooo!
The new PC term is ‘evolved’.
Keep up, People! The language gobbledygook is also ‘evolving’.
It doesn’t matter, he, just like the candidates from 2008 and 2012 will use semantics to define the term “amnesty” however they want to make it look like they are against “amnesty”, which is exactly what “pathway to citizenship” is. Bottom line, in an era of falling employment participation and falling wages, last thing we need is more immigration, either legal or illegal.
We see the GOPe is showing fear. We need a special forum for “Political Hit Pieces”. We all knew that the second Walker became real, both sides would try to destroy him.
I can recall having polls on this board. How about running one on our current preferences for a Republican nominee? Can it be done to preclude spamming?
We must oppose the politics as usual of the GOPe political machine that will do nothing to reverse Amnesty or Obamacare.
Scott Walker has no track record of doing that.
I notice the forgot to mention his statements from 2010...
“2010: stop suspected illegals; 2012: that’s a distraction. (Jul 2013)
Supports AZ’s immigration law and no benefits for illegals. (Jul 2010”

It’s not a “flip-flop.” It’s called “lying.”
I am not going to be influenced by opposition proctology exams of my guys/gals. It's all a bunch of crap!
Gov. Scott Walker bluntly told ABC News he opposed “amnesty” for illegal immigrants....

I’m thinking that still will not satisfy the “one-issue-only” purists here on FR.
“So, Martha, I do believe in a legal pathway for those here illegally now. The path should start at the precise point they are when I’m elected, and move in a generally southerly direction until they have passed the defined, and newly well defended, border of the US. At that time they can petition the government of Mexico to support them, or for non Mexicans, help them make arrangements to return to their home countries. From there they can apply for admittance to the US like they should have in they first place.”
Was he lying then or is he lying now?
.
>> “Did Scott Walker flip-flop on a immigration and a pathway to citizenship?” <<
.
Absolutely!
He’s channeling the GOPe !!!
.
Although recently I have been critical of Governor Walker in threads and on the Wisconsin state board for his reluctance to pursue a conservative agenda at the state level this term, I will say in his defense that illegal immigration hasn’t been as big of an issue here in Wisconsin as it has been elsewhere. We haven’t yet seen the same problems the southern states are experiencing. There are even relatively few Hispanic people in general and I don’t believe that I have ever spoken with anyone who wasn’t here legally. As Scott Walker takes to the national stage, I would expect his position on the issue to evolve and become more defined.
