Top Right News actually has more info than that. Apparently ISIS put out a press release citing the Quran's mentioning of Mohammed's burning "apostates" (those who leave Islam) alive, as specific justification for their action.

Indeed there is an Islamic way. Just check out Koran 8:12 and you find the following.

“When your Lord revealed to the angels: I am with you, therefore make firm those who believe. I will cast terror into the hearts of those who disbelieve. Therefore strike off their heads and strike off every fingertip of them.”

So burning someone in cold blood may well be "un-Islamic". They should have just beheaded the pilot.

In any case, don't listen to anyone who tells you that these monsters are not following the laws of Islam. They are following them with near perfection. They just mess up occasionally on how to properly butcher non-believers.

The Qu’ran decribes how to stake a captive out to build a fire on his belly to aid in questioning him, only killing him when he tells you what you want. Obviously killing prisoners by fire is very Islamic.
