While it's good we keep working on future generations of weapons, it should be known that our CURRENT fleet of F-15c can STILL defeat any other nations' best and newest.

We don't even need the F-22's to win.

But it's good to have them. Just in case.

Obama is going to bring back bi-planes soon enough

It sounds defeatest. The real answer is, “we can’t afford to be the far and away most technilogically advanced military in the world anymore.”

Well, either bi or LGBT-planes.

F-15’s are being sent to Tyndall AFB in Florida, being refitted and equipped to fly by remote control, tails being repainted day glow orange with matching stripes, and then flown by remote control about 70 miles off the Gulf coast to be shot down as target practice for F22 and F35’s.

Why don’t we just let F-22s do covert training in the ME and Asia? They can shoot down real enemies and never be discovered. Taht’s what Russia does.

How about we not worry about gen6, and stick with the F-22, which works in a pretty scary way.

There are still a few Phantoms flying around Tyndall without the paint. (Yet)

The article definitely did not seem to be satirical, and the same news is on other websites.

For a moment I thought he was describing an A-10. But they just retired the last A-10s. Stupid $hits.

> The U.S. Navy’s next generation air superiority fighter will not be “super-duper fast” or employ much in the way of stealth,...

Sounds a lot like an A-10. ;-)

They are talking about hi tech weapons instead of speed and stealth. Less defense, more offense. One idea I’ve had: Suppose you can beam a virus onto a wired network? Induction is a known EM phenomenon. Suppose you got the ability to induce voltages SO PRECISELY that you could simulate a bit of computer code, and plant it on a network? Without complete faraday-caging absolutely everywhere, it could work, and there would be little by way of defense.
