While it's good we keep working on future generations of weapons, it should be known that our CURRENT fleet of F-15c can STILL defeat any other nations' best and newest.
We don't even need the F-22's to win.
But it's good to have them. Just in case.

F-15’s are being sent to Tyndall AFB in Florida, being refitted and equipped to fly by remote control, tails being repainted day glow orange with matching stripes, and then flown by remote control about 70 miles off the Gulf coast to be shot down as target practice for F22 and F35’s.

I have never liked the F-35. And I agree: stealth technology is losing its edge.
I would set about building newer airframes of our 4th Generation aircraft for the time being.

Not all, but some, future operations will be able to be done by stealth unmanned aircraft. better less radar cross section designs may be able to be done without a pilot area and make their signatures quite small.
