That one song is the only thing I remembered of Mr. Glitter when I was told he had been arrested in Viet Nam. At first I wondered if he had not made agreed upon payments to the family and local constabulary but I found out more in the years after that. No. He was just an arrogant and impecunious pedophile. He had hired the 12 year old girl and her brother to take care of his house and the family lived on his “estate.” Actually it was leased and he didn’t pay for his lease. The police and the locals were happy to have him move there because they thought he would bring a lot of money into the country. Apparently he was pretty close to bankrupt at the time.

I saw him with The Who back in the mid nineties.
