U.S. lawmakers will write legislation requiring the United States to send arms to Ukraine if President Barack Obama does not move to send weapons, Republican Senator John McCain said Thursday.
McCain led about a dozen Republican and Democratic senators at a news conference in pressing Obama to send arms to help Kiev defend itself against a Russian-backed separatist movement.
"We'll be looking at marking up legislation that calls for it," McCain said.

Well, well, well, Señor McCain is doing something right..for once.
Fortifying the Urainian border (what’s left of it). Imagine that.
It is high time we keep our promises and agreements. Obama dropped the ball on the missile defense of Europe, too.
I’m sure I don’t understand all the details. Can they get around his veto?
Not trying to stir anything up; just wondering.

BTW, do we really want to get into a war with Russia?
If the Senate and House do what they did in December, arms will be sent to Kiev. I will add this skepticism though: What would happen if the House and Senate unanimously approve the immediate shipment of arms to Kiev and Obama tells them he won't allow it?
"The Senate and House of Representatives unanimously passed legislation in December that authorized sending arms to Kiev. Obama signed the measure into law but it gave him leeway over whether or when to send arms."
Gary Kasparov, famous Chess Champion tweets.
“I actually have more respect for Chamberlain now. At least he didn’t know. These guys have his lesson and so have no such excuse.”
Kasparov also on what Obama said yesterday:
“I’m just shocked. What these people are doing to the reputation of America is a scandal. World needs leaders who believe in good & evil.”
I don’t know if Kasparov is liberal or conservative, I know he has entered politics, I thought he leaned liberal but seems to tell current events like it is, common sense.
“Same day Kerry pleads with Putin, Obama compares murdering Islamist extremists with Christians during Crusades & Jim Crow What’s going on?!”
“When you are being killed by an invading army, weapons are the real ‘humanitarian aid’ you need. Will save more lives than Kerry’s blankets.”
It altogether too bad that we even have to ask that question. The question ought to always be “Do the Russians want to get into a war with us?”
Reagan understood that.
Democrats are incapable of doing so.
Uh huh...so who’s going to train the Ukrainians to use those American weapons?
CIA
Not our problem then. Let Europe do it.
Mccain think he’s president

Maybe the implant serum is getting low.../s
Or he’s making a lit of money for his military contractor buddies...for a “fee” of course...

Former President of Georgia Mikheil Saakashvili speals about Russian President Vladimir Putin
I suspect it's more that he thinks he should be president and on some weird level that only makes sense in his mind. He's all for unleashing global war.
He's the force for continuing to arm, train, and finance rebels who have promised to friend us in Syria. That's worked out real well, for ISIS.
Getting the US involved in Ukraine is a bad move. There's a potential for those we arm, train, and finance becoming neo-Nazi terrorists. Europe could end up threatened by muslim radical terrorists AND neo-Nazi terrorists.
WW2, Europe couldn't handle the Nazis without Russia joining the fight. This time around, they're aching for war against Russia? Think about it. The only result is real bad for Europe, whatever the outcome for everyone else.
The criminal wants his blood, and there will be blood, no mistake about it.
So, the question is - do you want a little blood now, or a lot later?
There was a time when America knew freedom had to be fought for. Ronald Reagan understood that.
But judging from your comment, Reagan is clearly dead and gone.
And the world is worse off because of it.
