You can say one thing about the Bushes: They dont quit easily. Even when they try over and over and fail over and over to redesign traditional American conservatism.
Even on this date, Feb. 6, Ronald Reagans birthday, the fight over the meaning of American conservatism goes on: The Bush family thinking one thing, and Reagan conservatives representing another.
The Bushes agenda has always relied on big government. But Reagans agenda focused on shrinking the authority of the state and enlarging the power of the individual. This is not a nuanced difference.
Only two days before Reagans birthday, Jeb Bush was in Detroit calling for reform conservatism and fixing government policy rather than calling for specific cuts in the corrupt federal bureaucracy. NBC took note of the speech and reported that Bush is taking a page from the 2000 presidential campaign of his brother, former President George W. Bush. Jeb Bushs call for a right to rise, NBC said, is really code for the former presidents compassionate conservatism.
Consider, then-Vice President George H.W. Bush trotted out kinder and gentler conservatism in his acceptance speech at the 1988 Republican National Convention. The conservatives who had come to New Orleans were decidedly unhappy with what they considered an open rebuke to the president especially first lady Nancy Reagan.
Of course, Bush couldnt make it work expanding government, going to war in the Middle East, minimizing the victory over Soviet communism and breaking his pledge on taxes. He was turned out of office four years later, losing to Bill Clinton.
Conservatism, however, made a roaring comeback with the 1994 midterm elections.

There will never be another President Bush.
Run Jeb Run!
I used to laugh really loudly at the “New World Order” conspiracies. That all gets less funny with each passing year.
Papa Bush trampled on Reagan’s legacy.
That became apparent by late 1991.
We got his son over the finish line in 2000 and 2004, and he squandered his entire second term.
We are not getting fooled a third time.
Stay out the Bushes!
Not to mention, does not the Bush-Clinton-Bush-Clinton loop make the average American just want to puke?
Bush will suck up all the oxygen on the Rino side of the tent. He will never get over 30% in a primary.
How about it trampling on the middle class.
Just say no to dynasties.
Jeb Bush murdered Terri Schiavo. Coward.
>>Run Jeb Run!<<
This post belongs on the “Friday Silliness Thread”.

Riiiight? All of us up here at work were convinced that Bush would move further right during his second term. Not having to work for re-election and all.
Not so, woooop, he turned LEFT.
Ol Jebby is doin a hard left right outta the gate.
Good observation.
Jeb wants to win without anyone on the right side of the GOP.
And he has stated such.
Good luck with that.
Jebby Boy is like being served a piece of white bread soaking in a bowl of milk, when you ordered a big juicy steak.
Speakin of NWO....go check out New America Foundation. Funded by Soros and his son. I included a link to their donors...yikes!
These are the same cats lookin to get rid of the American passport and replace with an “Americas” passport. An attempt to integrate the Americas into an American Union. Sorry for the length of the post...but ya gotta check it out.

There’s no way Bush gets by the primaries.
The more liberals there are in the primary field, the better chance we have of electing a conservative.
Run Jeb Run!
Run Christie Run!
Run Romney Run!
Run Fiona Run!
Run Schwartzenegger Run!
Ronald Reagan has a legacy left?
In the 26 years since Reagan left office, it has not only been trampled and obliterated, it has been practically written out of contemporary consciousness, and a whole generation, nearly two, has come up that has either no recollection at all, or only the haziest memory of those halcyon days.
Jeb at best will get the Republican nomination. There is no way he’ll be elected president. the Bush name is too toxic. I still see libtards driving around with their “Buck Fush” bumper stickers.
I agree, no matter how hard this ackjass leans to the left he will never get the lefties to vote for him, but he will also not get the GOP informed base to vote for him.
Personally, I can’t even stand to look at this guy, and there is just nothing appealing about his personality or politics.
If he’s the nominee, he will do worse than Mitt. And if by some odd chance he gets elected, he will be no better than obama.
This guy is a total zero.

NWO......Let’s get it OVER with !
