Ithaca, N.Y. — Despite the efforts of local officials, vaccination rates for some Ithaca schools are significantly lower than both the New York State and national averages.
How at risk is Ithaca? There are no reported cases here, but state statistics show that some Ithaca area schools have vaccination rates for measles as low as 72 percent — compared to the average rate of 95 percent for the state at large.
The 95 percent figure is key, because it’s the rate at which an “effective herd immunity” is established to prevent the spread of a disease like measles

When I was in school and even when my kids were in school you had to show proof of vaccination to register. When and why did this change?
Vaccination rates are lower because there was apparently little need as these diseases were largely eradicated - then health of new entrants stopped being a concern of those allowing the current policy of totally unfettered immigration.
Now that it is a concern once more rates will rise. And the media will have successfully changed the subject and protected their precious agenda of international socialism from criticism.
Those educated liberals in Ithaca are are stupid for not vaccinating their kids.

What I am okay with is the knowledge that there are many modern and helpful medical procedures that were unfortunately based on horrible things done in the past...and if we suddenly stop availing ourselves of modern medicine because of those long past horrible things we would essentially end up back in the days of Witch doctory.
As noted at the link I provided, Not even the Catholic church wants vaccines banned because of their long ago connection to fetal cells.
