Oregon’s governor is struggling to deal with allegations that his fiancée used his position to land clients for her environmental consulting business, claims that have drawn an ethics investigation and the scrutiny of the state’s attorney general.

Although his role in arranging the deals isn’t clear, the scandal has posed a threat to the decades-long political career of four-term Democrat John Kitzhaber, Oregon’s longest-serving governor. […]

A series of newspaper reports since October have chronicled Cylvia Hayes’ work for organizations with an interest in Oregon public policy. During the same period, she worked as an unpaid adviser in the governor’s office. The spotlight on Hayes led to her revelation that she accepted about $5,000 to illegally marry an immigrant seeking immigration benefits in the 1990s. Later, she admitted she bought a remote property with the intent to grow marijuana.

“Recent allegations relating to Gov. Kitzhaber and Ms. Hayes are very serious—and troubling,” Attorney General Ellen Rosenblum said in a statement. “My office is considering all of our legal options to ensure that we are best serving the state.” …

If I read it correctly, he is up for re-election in 2016.
The OR Rats have never been stupid.
They know that having him at the top of the ticket is a danger to both Blue Oregon and Hillary.

Time to throw him under the bus and appoint a known RAT without baggage.

Second paragraph. Preceded by the words “four-term” as if it were a boast, almost.

None of the articles about this clown have mentioned his party, and the Asspress is the chief water carriers for the commies who run things. Forget about his big D getting mentioned.

They haven’t found Client 9 in bed with Kitzhaber yet. His kibitzing around is no big deal.

Ummm...no. He is reelected to a 3rd term this past November, just like CA’s Brown.

The bigger story, aside from his GF’s shenanigans, is how the media were complicit in permitting Kitzhaber to pull out of campaigning and they let him get away with it.

He stopped campaigning when it broke about all these potential ethics problems to avoid the negative press. Local radio continued to lambaste him, but it wasn’t enough. Oregon is solid blue (Republican/Conservative) save for several small pockets of high liberal population...enough to spin this State Red as the Soviet flag. They not only a majority Dem component to both State Houses, but the Lib-popular Kitzhaber.

He should never have been elected regardless, IMHO, but the ethics questions were there BEFORE the election. Most of you are only reading about it now.

But, I’ve only had four terms; there’s so much more work left to do. Imagine the fraud and corruption in his 6th and 7th terms.
