He lives in a vivid fantasy world that would make Walter Mitty blush — never missing a chance to shamelessly play the hero or embellish a news story. Reality-challenged NBC anchor Brian Williams once boasted about abandoning a dying buddy to cover the death of Princess Diana — but said it was worth it because it won him worldwide fame. “I lost a very good friend to Agent Orange-related cancer,” he told Alec Baldwin in a March 2013 interview on the “30 Rock” actor’s “Here’s the Thing” show on WNYC radio. “I was in the hospital room with him. It was a Saturday night, I had just done ‘Nightly News.’ My pager went off: ‘Diana, car accident, Paris.’ I called the office, and they said, ‘You better get in here,’ ” Williams recalled. “I had no idea that I’d be announcing to what was then, I mean, they plugged us into cable all over Europe. I have people wherever I go to this day who say, ‘I was with you the night Diana died,’ ” the anchor said. Williams has spun more wild story lines than his own network’s sitcoms.

Was Brian in the tunnel where the Di car crash occurred?

It is so funny watching all these videos of him being so sincere and telling moving tales, and knowing they are false.

He is repulsive.

Brian Williams is your typical narcissistic liberal Commie who embellishes his life so he can feel good about himself and make others think highly of him. He is one sick POS

Yes he was. Brian claims the crash occurred after the car was hit by small arms fire. The tunnel then began to fill with water, and he saw a body floating past him.

Drudge says Williams takes leave. Is this something like 0 taking off to play golf or is he looking for a shipload of whitewash?

There are some pretty devastating pics with captions out there of him. Funny as hell but I think it’s just going to be a matter of time. They can’t keep him and retain any credibility as a news org.

To me this just shows the raw power these MSM folks think they have. They eat, sleep and drink the power until it destroys them. I bet Brian Williams never gave it one second of thought that his lies would someday come back and bite him BIGTIME. He probably really believes what he is shoveling. Even now, he thinks a few days off and this will all blow over. The sad thing is maybe he is right.

Finally, the real story.

He’s either beginning to believe the BS he’s been spewing, or it’s dementia. He couldn’t have seen a floating body from his French Quarter hotel room- the Quarter had a couple of inches-at most- of water in the street. Just goes to show how much of the ‘news’ is factual. They make stuff up and then believe it themselves!

Oh, I thought he saved Princes Di's puppies from Godzilla (who had an RPG and was chasing them in a helicopter, on Bourbon Street.)
