Well, they shouldn’t be on the streets. Churches will provide assistance if they are truly needy. But, in reality, the vast majority of the homeless are rotten criminals (looters) preying on productive people (the good guys).

I don’t know where you live or where you last checked with churches, but many are simply running out of funds because the need is too great.

The food banks here, both ones run by large non-profits and ones run by churches, are empty or nearly empty many days a month. The shelters that take families are full with long waiting lists.

I think you are basing your ideas on this subject on what his historically been known to be true about street and/or homeless people. I like Rush also, but on this, both he and you are mistaken. People are hurting badly and many just cannot find jobs.

I know about the job situation because I was laid off 2 years and 9 months ago and have not found anything else. I have applied for so many jobs that it’s mind boggling. I hear over qualified, we’re going in another direction, we’ll keep your resume on file....etc. I’ve even applied for entry level jobs and fast food jobs, but those won’t hire because they feel the minute someone offers me more money, I’m gone. Thank goodness my husband has a decent job or we, too, would have been on the streets. I was making $50,000 per year and am not even wanting anything close to that. I just want a job. I’d bet a good number of homeless feel the same.

Thank you. Many people just see what they want to see and don’t look deeper. As you said, this is a ‘but for the grace of God’ situation.

IMO whether or not the homeless man was down on his luck or someone off his meds, throwing water on his belongings was the wrong thing to do. Where exactly would that person go to try and dry their things so that they don’t get sick? Heartless.
