That punk who soaked the homeless guy, needs to be facing some charges.

We've encountered each other numerous times here on Free Republic and invariably find your posts to well-reasoned, factual and often buttressed with charts and links to validate your points. On matter ranging from the liberal mythology of JFK (and MLK) to our unwavering pro-life stances, we're in 100% agreement. This seems to be the one exception.

Rush Limbaugh has pointed out that homeless are scammers, grifters, looters and ne'er-do-wells. I think the rights of private property trump all else in this case and the manager of the Tim Hortons store was defending property against encroachment by a shiftless bum. As you know, I don't argue for its own sake. So, if you think my evaluation of the situation is wrong, I'm open for points that may cause me to change my stance. Thanks, FRiend!

You need to stop describing us as having some sort of history every time you want to post something to me, just make your posts on whatever the topic is.

My take is in post 31.

Some are simply ordinary people who have fallen on hard times. It happened to a person I knew, and he was none of those things.

I think the rights of private property trump all else in this case and the manager of the Tim Hortons store was defending property against encroachment by a shiftless bum.

The article says the homeless person was outside the eatery, presumably on the sidewalk to ask customers for change, or if they could buy him something inside. I never give change, but if a hungry looking person outside a fast food joint like Horton's asks me, I'll try to buy them some hot food. If the homeless guy was harassing people or breaking property rights, the police should have been called.
