Given the SCOTUS' refusal to get involved today, is there now any doubt how they will rule this summer?

Nope, there was never any other outcome.

You're begging for comparisons to Wallace's stand in the schoolhouse door.

Blacks don't choose to be black.

Wrong, Wrong, Wrong. My US Constitution, article 3, section 2 clearly states that in ALL CASES where a STATE is a PARTY to the action, the Supreme Court and ONLY the Supreme Court has LEGAL Jurisdiction. No Inferior Court has the authority under the Constitution to even hear the case, let alone rule on it. Tell the inferior court to pound sand.

That's a creative interpretation of the law, but a wrong one. The Supreme Court has always interpreted that clause as giving it - as opposed to Congress - the power to assume or delegate jurisdiction over state party cases.

This was stated explicitly by the Supreme Court way back in 1861, although the precedents the Court cited go back to the founding of the American judiciary. Kentucky v. Dennison, 65 U.S. (24 How.) 66, 98 (1861). Aside from running contrary to the law, your interpretation would be unworkable - we'd probably need 1000 Supreme Court justices just to handle the workload. Insane.

Another thing about your post.

You assume that LGBT activists are fighting for some sort of “equality” in our society.

I see bitter and angry people who want to marginalize those who differ with them for grievances real in some cases and imagined in others.

Opponents of gay marriage are being prosecuted and persecuted already with the actions against businesses and people being forced out of their jobs for believing that gay marriage is wrong.

The biggest case in point is that of Brendan Eich being forced out as CEO of Mozilla for giving money to support Prop 8 in California.

His treatment is reminiscent of when Jews were forced out of businesses in Germany in 1933.

The forces supporting gay marriage should be opposed because it is they who plan to impose a “Jim Crow” society on all of us with Americans who believe in traditional values being those who will be marginalized from society instead of African-Americans.

>?This is bad. Very bad.

Genesis 19 and Isaiah 5:20 apply.

These events are just following the script of Revelation. We know how this ends. The spirit of AntiChrist was unleashed on a naive unsuspecting and morally decayed America on January 29, 2009 after she was deemed ripe enough for insertion. If you look at the path America took from the 50’s on to today and take into account that it was already known BHO was going to be president of the United States by KGB agents in 1992 who knew all about his background and the fact that he reportedly said “I am going to be the president of the United States” as though it were predestined in response to what his future plans were going by postman named Alan Hulton as he exited Thomas Ayers home sometime during the ‘80’s , it becomes clear. The writing is on the wall. We were setup. I don’t think this is conspiracy theory (which I’ve heard plenty; the difference is a consiracy theory is just that; it diesn’t manifest itself). The enemy knew America had a weakness; the fairness doctrine and they turned it around on and stabbed us in the back with it. I’m sure they were griinning when all of the affirmative action / equal rights laws were set in place because they knew PC wasn’t far behind and that would allow them to stab America in its white guilt ridden heart and kill her once and for all so it could be overtaken. Here we are.

The issues aren’t the same but the optics are. The US Constitution and the federal courts - right or wrong - trump the Alabama Constitution and Alabama courts. That issue was settled at Appomattox. And if any state should attempt to reopen the issue, it ought not be Alabama given Alabama’s history.

I’m not sure who you think you’re arguing with. You’ve put an awful lot of words in my mouth I haven’t said.

Blacks don't choose to be black.

I've made the same point to other posters. The issues aren't the same. The optics are. If Alabama choses to defy federal court orders, you know the Left will immediately bring up Alabama's history of defying court orders and the first thing they'll mention is George Wallace.

Sorry, but I will take the written words of the Constitution over the actions of a scumbag lawyer in a dress anytime. The State can force the issue by telling the inferior court to drop dead.

“That’s a creative interpretation of the law”

Creative?? How about a DIRECT QUOTE!!

In all Cases affecting Ambassadors, other public Ministers and Consuls, and those in which a State shall be Party, the supreme Court shall have original Jurisdiction

The Operation Rescue thing over abortion kicked up in the late 1980’s and early 1990’s but it fizzled.

Civil disobedience was strongest in Pittsburgh for a sustained period and out in Wichita, Kansas for a shorter time.

The official “Pro-Life” movement that supports the GOPe political machine, as Sarah Palin discovered in her career and pointed out in “Going Rogue”, was against Operation Rescue from the get go. I refer to the National Right To Life Committee and its various state affiliates.

We didn’t get a Birmingham moment with some angry Bull Connor unleashing dogs and water cannon but the Pittsburgh cops and some in other cities got tough and there were some stories about their conduct bandied about.

Conservative religious people need to get their own act together regarding sex related matters and develop an authentic spiritual life so they are enabled to humbly and peacefully resist the evil tyranny which will follow the legalization of gay marriage.

People who oppose gay marriage-homosexuality will be silenced and marginalized, lose their jobs and become outcasts like Jews in Germany during the early to mid 1930’s (before things got worse) and like African-Americans in the old Jim Crow South.

I simply laid out the situation as it is, gay marriage supporters are prosecuting and persecuting their opponents.

That’s their ultimate aim in general and their efforts will expand after the legal battle about marriage ends later this year with its legalization.

>>Genesis 19 and Isaiah 5:20 apply.<<

You bet. We are all sinners and in need of the saving grace of our Messiah Jesus every minute of the day.

With that said, it is an affront to the Almighty to make sodomy/gay marriage the law of the land.

the first thing they'll mention is George Wallace.

This requires a preemptive move on the part of someone high up in the Alabama political structure to put that out there first, and point out the difference.

They'll get nowhere on defense.

This is all because lawyers are deciding science.

Hedonism is a behavior.

How about the two alleged homosexuals on the USSC which were put on there by Obama? The have to presume their lifestyle behavior is not a choice to validate their hedonism.

It has to clear the way for Hillary.

This is not the same as skin color.

It should be legally the same as any other sexual recreation as fetishism, or nudist camps.

So Roy Moore has issued an order telling state probate judges not to issue licenses. Now I guess the question is whether the state judges follow his orders or the federal court’s orders. And if they follow the federal court order whether the state disciplines them.

It would defy common sense

Only likely 3 votes against it

4 solids for it

The other 2 are ok with it but don’t want to impose it so they are maneuvering to let it happen

Amazing to watch cowards at work

Overruling the will of the people in nearly all the States

Bad optics.

If you fear the optics in this instance, then give up, you’re done. It ought to be done FOR the optics. The people, where they have voted, have stood with traditional mores.
