Any idiot knew even at the time that it was pure political calculation. And it’s something our SCOTUS should know now. Just a few short years ago same sex marriage was a losing proposition throughout the USA. And Obama’s anti-same-sex marriage position is proof positive that the so-called ‘ripeness’ of this issue simply hasn’t happened. Thousands of years of human history, hundreds of years of US history, and the black robes want to pretend that this issue is ready for them to overturn an entire culture and the votes of the people.

I’m betting that if you brought this up to any sheeperal,
they’d first deny that he lied,
then justify his lie with something along the lines of
“he’d not have gotten elected to do the right thing for gay people if he’d let everyone know that’s what he’s going to do”.
Such as it always is with leftists. They lie about what they’re going to do in order to get the power to do what they are going to do.
They intentionally rule against the will of the people,
and justify it with a simple “I know better” attitude.
