Middle school students given word puzzles based on 'Fifty Shades of Grey' erotica. School district officials would not comment on whether any teachers or staff have been disciplined, though many have expressed interest

My daughter lives in Monessen about 2 blocks from this school. Monessen is a old run down steel mill town. This "puzzle" is all the buzz in town and the folks do not like it.

Based on the amount of hype coming from Hollywood about “Fifty Shades of Grey” — I just heard a commercial for Vermont Teddy Bears advertising a FSG bear gift for Valentines Day(!) — the movie must be a real turkey. It sounds to me that this will be a flop at the box office as soon as it hits theaters. We shall see. The stupidity of the American public for hype is legendary.

Board member Roberta Bergstedt, who was not at the meeting, said in an email that the puzzles were passed out by mistake. By mistake? I highly doubt it. The teacher knows exactly what she passes out.
If a teacher passes out something like that "by mistake" that is so out of place in the classroom, she should be fired because she is a mindless idiot and should not be teaching. Period.

Someone should publish the name of the teacher who passed out the puzzle...and let the chips fall where they may.

It’s easy to create these (and other) word puzzles, using free, on-line puzzle makers. Here’s one comprising screen names from this thread (note: this particular puzzle maker treats numbers as spaces — so, if your handle includes a number, the number won’t be in the letter array.
Here’s a link to this puzzle maker (there are many others):

passed out by mistake???
Why were they in the school in the first place. Who ever brought them in should be punished just as should the teacher who distributed them. Find out what the teacher’s goal or motive was in doing so.

Why aren't there hundreds of parents storming this school and demanding answers now, not "after an investigation?" We know the class, someone MUST be able to link the teacher, we have evidence of the "puzzle" and we know the principal. These people work for you, taxpayers!

FYI - Another reason...
BTW, I just found out that a respected teacher at our town’s middle school is serving prison time for abuse of a large number of students. So glad I always homeschooled.

One more sharp stick to the eye. It is to probe and provoke, then wait and see.
It will disappear with time, there will be no real consequence, all outrage is for show.
Sowing the seeds of discontent and perversion, our professionally educated army of subversives marches on.
