I agree with you that those complaining martyrs certainly include those slain during the first half of the Tribulation, although I believe it may also include those slain previously. Regardless, my (unstated) intent was to draw readers' attention to the larger issue of martyrdom in general, of which the current examples are but a foretaste.

I thoroughly agree with you that we are in the final build-up to the end times and have been since the end of WW2, when the regathering of the surviving dispersed Jews to Israel accelerated. I'm 65 already, so I may not physically experience the Rapture, but I suspect it is now imminent. I'm a mid-Tribber--well, a week or so prior to the midpoint.

But you've read Scripture accurately in your understanding of Israel's contortions to achieve peace and safety--ironically, to be had ultimately only through a personal relationship with Jesus, not a corporate covenant with antichrist.
