You make some excellent points! The immunizations are supposed to trigger an immune response-I find it amazing that people think the number of shots is no big deal. With babies getting multiple shots, why is it shocking to some that they have negative reactions/vaccine injuries and severe immune responses?
NO ONE is held accountable for the “one size fits all” vaccination schedule. How many doctors read the product inserts or check family history to exempt children who have allergies or perhaps they are sick at the time of immunization and therefor already compromised? Why are the smallest children given the same amount/quantity of vaccine as the largest children? Even Tylenol is supposed to be given based upon weight.
I don't understand it, either. I noticed that some pro-vaccination advocates don't realize how many shots these babies and toddlers are given, often all on the same day in one doctor's visit.
FTR, I'm neither anti-vax nor pro-vax. Parents should make the decision for their own children. My children each received the "required" shots up until they were 2 years old. At the time, the required number was around 19 shots. My records show 4 shots for 6 different diseases all in one doctor's visit. Imagine - all of those shots for all of those diseases, all at the same time. And I never questioned it... until later.
Yet, grownups are all over the internet screaming that every child must receive every single recommended shot. Would any of those grownups submit themselves to that many shots? Aside from those working in the medical field, I'd bet most would not. And how many recommended shots are they willing to submit children to? It's at least 26 now. How about 30? 50? 100? One wonders if they're willing to limit the number of shots at all.
Sorry, but anyone who who sees some conspiracy theory in vaccine use is just ignorant of basic science.
Not yet. However, there quite a few that are perfectly willing to treat you like a criminal for NOT doing so.
This bears repeating. Just over 100 people get sick with measles, and none die this year. Yet in this same year, over 50,000 will die as the result of automobile crashes, and many thousands as the result of a long-deadly disease known as the flu, and also from MRSAs, which have adapted and become immune to antibiotics and vaccines, yet people flip out from hearing hundreds sick and zero dead. It’s stupid. If anything, the results of just barely over one hundred show society is thoroughly vaccinated, and it certainly has confirmation that we can give people medicine to ensure that measles won’t kill them, and they can gain natural immunity to it. So will the effing media shut up about measles, and talk to us about why vaccines don’t do as good of a job at stopping death from happening from the flu as they do for measles, along with antivirals.
The flu does kill, in fact saying that it doesn’t is like, to quote Tom Cruise to Jamie Fox, “No, I just shot him, the bullets and the fall killed him!” The flu made your body vulnerable to pneumonia by devastating your immune system. It caused the death.
It doesn’t work that way, the vaccines and even boosters are far from 100 percent effective. I got measles even with a vaccine and a booster shot in 1995, for example. It doesn’t totally ensure your kid won’t get whatever disease is out there, but with antiviral drugs, antibiotics, and the increased strength of immune system, the chances of death even in those unvaccinated against measles is low, that’s why we hardly have any measles deaths, because even those unvaccinated can go get antiviral medication for it, even those that get sick with pertussis with or without the shot can get antibiotics for it, and so on. This is all a bunch of hype to get us riled up, while the government sends our country down the drain. Don’t fall for their demagoguery.
Correction, basic economics, a pharmaceutical company offers shots out like water, a few dollars, and often with insurance or for welfare purposes, the shots can actually cost nothing to those receiving it. Viagra or Aspirin on the other hand, rake in money for the businesses.
There are simple rules to avoid some kind of overload.
1) Don’t give someone shots when they are obviously sick with something else.
2) The immune system multi-tasks against potentially thousands of diseases in a single day, it’s only those that make it through the outer defenses that make you really sick, which is highly selective to those that your immune system is either too weak, or unexposed to, to stop.
3) Diseases in a multi-vaccine are closesly related, such as MMR, so it isn’t a bunch of radically different germs at the same time, or the full-blown germs that you trigger a response to, because the real thing could be deadly if you are unexposed to it.
VAERS is a system that takes claims at face value without double-checking or confirming anything as fact, might as well have listened to the Infowars prediction of complete government collapse in 2009, but oh wait... DID NOT HAPPEN
With all the unwanted scum from Mexico, et al, crawling across our southern border it’s no surprise that diseases that we thought were eradicated here are springing up.
Comparing this to auto crashes is another matter completely.
Wait until thousands more Muslims are allowed in by Obama fiat. Then the death rate by violence will rise above the vehicular deaths.
You get what I am saying though, which is that the government is doing selective outrage on something not so bad at the national level.
Um, no. People have a right to privacy. That includes medical privacy. It's not subject to hand-wringing leftist "what about the children" emotionalism. And when vaccinations are mandatory, then, of course, their cost should be socialized, right?
Leftists love to grease the slippery slopes of authoritarianism everywhere possible, so that, in the end, collectivist Tyranny prevails in every aspect of public life.
And anyone who has been vaccinated surely has no reason to fear someone who hasn't, right?
The nature of Freedom means that sometimes society won't be as orderly (or even as safe) as parents might like. Or as safe as nanny-staters would like it to be in their socialist wet dreams.
If someone is willing to compromise on that, then they're compromising on Freedom. The choices belong to the individual parents. Period.
The state doesn't have the right to make such decisions except when it's overwhelmingly compelling, and diseases like measles, with their extremely low death/deformation rates, simply do not rise to the level of compelling.
Freedom of choice is Freedom of choice, and if every majority exercised their "unalianable right" to Tyrannize their brethren for the good of society as a whole, we'd all end up with very little Freedom indeed. Sound familiar?
No thanks. It's a slippery slope, rightly to be decried and feared. I'll settle for actual Freedom, even if it means my vaccinated children have to tolerate a world where there are a few unvaccinated ones.
My husband has a cold right now. You’d think it was a killer. :)
Right. And as far as the Ebola thing was concerned, it was just another ring in Bozo’s three ring circus.
They can absolutely choose not to be vaccinated. And we as a society then have the right to say “then stay the hell out of my kids’ school and homeschool them,” the same way we tell unlicensed drivers they can’t drive.
Because your statement that surely the vaccinated have nothing to fear from the unvaccinated is false. The unvaccinated are the crucible in which these illnesses can mutate into a form that can harm the vaccinated.
No, it’s called even vaccines expire or fail sometimes in preventing disease. But that’s a problem for whomever is old, has had chemotherapy, or is in the advanced stages of HIV infection, etc.
I am just sick about how much parents push for their kids to be on drugs as a solution to their kids’ struggle to be attentive. It’s pretty bad, and probably only a fraction need amphetamines to help with their problems.
In other words, the 2014 was likely someone not following directions, which indicates that you have a risk of shedding measles after getting the shots, so act accordingly.
