Right now the tent is pretty small, there's no room for conservatives. The GOP would be very unwise (but I repeat myself) not to embrace the passion of the Tea Party. If the democrats have learned anything it is a group of noisy passionate folks even in the minority can make great strides in getting things accomplished. Instead the GOP goes out of its way to be ‘bland’ centrist and ‘reasonable’.

Conservatives are saying, give us a conservative nominee or we might walk. But a principled conservative candidate might cause at least as many moderates to stay home. You need to have a candidate that is acceptable to both sides.

Yes Big Tent GOP has sure worked out so well for the nation since 1989. /sarcasm

The first act of the GOP Big Tent Freak Show this evening will be Johnny The Crying Drinking Clown followed by Harry's favorite act Mitch The Human Folding Chair.

A RINO candidate cannot inspire and cannot show conviction because, well they are moderates and that by definition means a lack of conviction.

Okay, let me rephrase that. You need to have a principled conservative candidate that appeals to both sides.

Okay, I’ll rephrase again. You need to have a principled conservative who does not appeal to moderates.

You need to have a principled conservative who does not appeal to moderates.Wrong; a principled Conservative appeals to moderates, because of the GOPe they haven't had a chance since Reagan to show that support.

How is that different than the first time I rephrased it?
