Tea Party News Network Staffers Resign en Masse, Citing ‘Despicable Practices’

Today, a chunk of staffers from the Tea Party News Network, a news site with nearly 12 million unique visitors per month, sent in their resignations over the company’s “despicable practices.”

The resignation came soon after the publication of a Daily Beast exposé about the news outlet, which has seen incredible traffic numbers coupled with what its readers perceive as a decline in the quality of content, sometimes with little connection to tea party issues. (One recent headline: “Big Strutting Peacock Picks A Fight With The Wrong Guy.”)

The exposé also shone light on some of their business practices, such as the fact that the Tea Party News Network’s Facebook page regularly posted content from different websites, such as “Fights.buzz, which shows street altercations of the type that are banned from YouTube.” The sites are all owned by TPNN’s owner, Todd Cefaratti, and are all for-profit, while TPNN itself is a non-profit site.

This is a problem for the staff, some of whom sent a resignation letter to brass indicating this was the final straw. “Unfortunately the ‘coalition’ of companies and groups you collectively run has not been operating with the honor that people should be able to respect.”

Considering the facts of American history, I doubt he could have done that.

Brian Williams is probably available. You know, to help restore their credibility.

The woman from the TPNN was on FBN on Charles Payne’s show tonight. She is a regular named Scottie Nell Hughes. Rusty Humphries was with the news site but left after he was fired off TRN1 and now he created a group to help with elections The Tea Party Leadership Fund. Scottie used to help him on his show in Atlanta as a producer. The TPNN site is still up and running and seems to be a nicer format now than back in 2011 when it began.

I notice if I get enticed to click on them, it seems to load slowly once you actually find the video....and yes, mostly all totally shallow nonsense for the most part...

LOL!
Members of the TEA party have never approved any particular official political leaders or affiliation with any specific political enterprises, of any kind, especially those that call themselves “TEA party” organizations.

It is pretty hilarious though, watching those who don't truly understand the concept, miss the entire point of our self-proclaimed existence!

The Tea Party, IMHO, has always been a commitment to Liberty without requiring any sort of “leadership”, or “dues”.

There are no “members”. There are but advocates to Liberty’s cause.

Too bad. I don’t mind people making money off it, but I hate to see people making money by demeaning it.

Well, except for the Dems, RINOs and media. After all they make all their money hurting America.

There is no way after six months of this kind of stuff will NBC have any credibility to put him back working.

What they really need to do is fire all of themselves. They knew his crap for years. They’ll just burn him and keep collecting their paychecks.

Having worked in Personnel for many years, I can’t help but wonder if there was a very good vetting program in place when they did the hiring.

It would seem to me that vetting the staff is a priority.

They are mutineers and have set him adrift in a dingy while they go on with their lives, safe in the knowledge he will not survive alone and after all, “Dead Men Tell no Tales”
