MSNBC Contributor Attacks GOP 'Patriotism': 'Undermining Security of Nation'
NewsBusters ^ | Mark Finkelstein

Posted on 02/23/2015 3:12:30 PM PST by governsleastgovernsbest

In a classic example of phony political jujitsu, an MSNBC contributor has tried to turn the patriotism issue back against Republicans. Appearing on today's Ed Show, Steve Clemons attacked the "patriotism" of GOP congressional leaders, accusing them of "undermining the security of the nation."

This because Republicans have attached amendments to the DHS funding bill denying funds for President Obama's executive amnesty. Of course neither Clemons nor Schultz revealed that in a potential DHS "shutdown," all essential personnel, including those at TSA, Customs and Border, Secret Service, FEMA and Coast Guard, would continue to work. Only non-essential personnel, mainly office workers, would be furloughed.

Republicans aren’t patriotic because they don’t want to fund Obama’s amnesty scheme. Rightttt. Ping to Today show list.

This is the typical leftist “Do what I want or the puppy gets it” argument.

It’s also a demonstration of the need for a truth in packaging act/approach to legislation—clear simple bills, rather than omnibus authorizations. They can claim the GOP is against security because it doesn’t vote for a DHS bill that includes the leftist wish list. Standard operating procedure.

Somebody please 'plain to me why we hire these "non-essential" personnel, anyway.

It needs to get out there that this is all about Obama’s Illegals not security of the nation

Oddly enough, it was patriotism ....IMNVHO .... that has muted criticism of Obama. All officials know he is a dirty gay commie SOB, but it would look bad overseas for Americans to be knocking their leader, not that The Mombasa MF's many faults are unknown to other world leaders. However, foreigners might have once imagined that Americans would support their leader, no matter what a dirt bag he might actually be.

Maybe Rudy has ended that. He's a laughingstock overseas and it was probably just a matter of time before someone with a national presence had the balls to make him one here at home.

Maybe. Some republicans may be just as big a traitor as Obama. It doesn’t change it that Obama’s a traitor, however.

What’s the point of having a DHS if unlimited numbers of trespassing foreign nationals are allowed to invade the country through its southern border?

The thing that’s “undermining the security of the USA” is the Obama administration with Obama leading the way. Newt Gingrich said it out loud first. Who will be brave enough to follow? Impeach.

Bottom line;

Dems think if you don’t support our leftist Government then you are anti-government and therefore unpatriotic.

Conservatives value individuals over government.

The 2016 Presidential campaign should be ALL about this difference.

Conservative candidates have a golden opportunity to strike the “fear of Government” into the minds of the zombies.

It’s a winning issue and MUST be pursued.

“all essential personnel, including those at TSA, Customs and Border, Secret Service, FEMA and Coast Guard, would continue to work. Only non-essential personnel, mainly office workers, would be furloughed.”

It’s true that Obama and Democrats never mention this important fact, but don’t count on the totally inept, Keystone Cop GOP leadership to mention this same fact in their own defense. Instead they’ll probably sit on the sidelines, mute and incapable of marshalling a defense. They’re too worried about what the media might say about them.

This Alinskyite launched his attack from the Special Ed Show? ROTFLMAO!

Isn't that like one of those, "Suppose they gave a war and nobody came" things? What a jughead.

If the boy seriously wants to get his message out, he needs to buy some airtime on FOX.

A Nest of Vipers

There's so much evidence without even venturing into conjecture. All of this comes from their own mouths or published records for Communist front organizations in Chicago.

Young Barack Obama was introduced to Frank Marshall Davis by Stanley Dunham (citation: Obama's own Dreams of My Father)

Robert Taylor (Valerie Jarrett's grandfather) serves on the Chicago Civil Liberties Committee with Frank Marshall Davis. (citation: The Communist: Frank Marshall Davis, The Untold Story of Barack Obama’s Mentor)

Frank Marshall Davis and Vernon Jarrett (Valerie Jarrett's father-in-law) serve on the Publicity Committee of Citizens’ Committee to Aid Packing House Workers (a Communist front) (Citation: CCAPHW letter to committee members from Sidney Jones, April 12, 1948)

In the column, which originally appeared in the Chicago Tribune Nov. 2, 1979, Jarrett reported a proposal by Islamic radical and former Black Panther Khalid Abdullah Tariq al-Monsour, the lawyer previously known as Donald Warden, to work on behalf of Saudi Arabia and OPEC to provide $20 million for 10 years to aid 10,000 minority students each year. (Citation: Nov. 2, 1979 Chicago Tribune “Will Arabs Back Ties to Blacks with Cash?” by Vernon Jarrett)

According to Percy Sutton, former borough president of Manhattan, Khalid al-Monsour contacted him in 1977 because he was “raising money for Obama”, and asked Sutton to write a letter of support for Obama’s application to Harvard Law School (Citation: Percy Sutton, “Inside City Hall”, Cable Channel NY1, 2008)

Valerie Jarrett’s mother, Barbara Taylor Bowman, co-founded the Erikson Institute in 1966. Thomas Ayers (father of Bill) was a trustee of the Erikson Institute. Bernadine Dohrn (Bill Ayers’ wife) also later served on the Board of Trustees (Citation: “Obama's sweetheart-deal home loan”, World Net Daily, 10/15/08)

Bernadine Dohrn worked at the Sidley Austin Law Firm in Chicago from 1984 - 1988. Michelle Robinson (Obama) worked at the Sidley Austin Law Firm in Chicago from 1988 - 1991. That summer, young Michelle was assigned as advisor to a young summer associate, Barack Obama. (Citation: “The Woman Behind Obama”, Chicago SunTimes, Jan. 20, 2007)

DHS calls us terrorist so why should we fund them to come after us. By the way... how many real terrorist have they caught, tried and convicted for the billions they have already been given? What is the rate of return on those tax dollars?
