Mitch McConnell goes into fetal position. Harry Reid is the new leader of the Senate.

Sad and disappointing but not a surprise. Sen. Mitch McConnell has showed himself to be the gutless wimp that we’ve all known he is. He has given the Democrats exactly what they have been demanding. In other words, Sen. Mitch McConnell, as majority leader, has shown the same feckless, flaccidity that he showed while minority leader. What he’s done is pass the buck back to the House:

This is a shame. The issue is not only important but it is an easy win. It is the Democrats and the White House that need DHS funded. The GOP doesn’t. Something like 83% of that agency will remain on the job as they are “essential” employees. Not that it matters. Enforcing immigration and naturalization policy isn’t what the are about. They are more busy writing reports on the scourge of “sovereign citizen extremists” than actually doing something useful.

Now the action moves back to the House. Speaker Boehner should stick to his guns and takes as his motto General Grant’s statement during the Overland Campaign: “I propose to fight it out on this line, if it takes all summer.”

Can enough conservatives filibuster McConnell?
Time to form a new caucus; conservatives should split from the GOPe.

Where are all his supporters now?

Before the election I kept hearing how we needed him to get the majority. Well we won the majority and whats changed?

I'll continue only supporting conservatives. If I don't see one on the ballot in a general election I won't vote.

No surprise. He is a Pubbie. They fold. That is what they do. It is their nature.

Remember when Majority Leader Trent Lott played nice and did the power sharing. That was after the feckless Majority Leadership of Bill Frist.

The less you expect from the Republicans in Washington, the less you will be disappointed.

Where's everyone who assured us that "once we win the Senate" we'll see a return to sanity? "Just PLLLEEEASSSE go vote R - you'll see, this time it will matter!"

I wonder the same thing.
And there were those here saying Harry Reid thanks you when I said I wasn't about to vote Republican for (R)'s sake.

Screw that; make them earn my vote by, you know, doing what they say they're going to do, by standing up for something.

Screw the GOP, McTurtle, and anyone who dares trot out that same old stinkin' CRAP next election!

I'm with you.

For example, in 2016 if it comes down to hillary or jeb I'm not voting. It has to be a conservative who was a conservative before the primary for me to vote for them. I really don't care about the Pubs.

It’s so sad. The Dims, when they are in power (hell, even when they are the minority party!) have leadership that are our-way-or-the-highway, take-no-prisoners cutthroats; and the GOP, even with a strong majority, are milquetoast pantywaists who are terrified of their own shadows. What an utter embarrassment of a political party. Give us Ted Cruz and Trey Gowdy and a couple others and LET”S F***ING FIGHT!

I just don't know. All I know is that between this and the Lynch issue, I am sick to my stomach with these gutless jellyfish who parade around as "conservative" reps of We the People!

the Dems put their most rabid partisans in leadership and committee chairs. The GOP always puts their weakest spineless, reach-across-the-aisle people there.
