New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie sold himself to a room of conservative activists Thursday as a fighter who shouldn’t be counted out as he mulls a run for president in 2016.
The Republican, who has struggled in recent weeks to gain momentum, was interviewed by talk show host Laura Ingraham onstage at the annual Conservative Political Action Conference in Maryland. The three-day event features a parade of potential presidential contenders.
Christie has faced a slew of negative stories and a formidable fundraising challenge from former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush. But he made clear Thursday he’s not dissuaded.
“Is the election next week?” Christie responded when asked about lackluster poll numbers.
“I’ll take my chances on me,” he added. “I’ve done pretty well so far.” …

Christie is still more conservative than Rick Perry on immigration and probably a few others.
He at least asked rhetorically that how Dreamers can be 2nd class citizens when they are not citizens.
Also asked them why they were complaining when they were getting more than most. They wanted Rick Perry style financial aid as well as the in state rates.
I can’t understand why Christie is hated more than Perry or Jeb.

Said he’s not worried about what the Tea Party thinks
Wasted $217,700 of taxpayer money on helicopter rides
Denied a 2-year-old girl life-saving medicine
Encouraged illegal immigration by offering in-state tuition to MS-13 gang members

Well, at least not until they close the buffet.
OTOH, Romney staked out a strong position on illegal immigration in 2012, slamming Perry for his pro-illegal stance -- only to reveal himself recently as a fraud on this (I know. What a surprise.), when he (Romney) came out in support of Amnesty.
Back to Christie, do you know if there are any actual actions in NJ he's taken on the illegals issue?
And is somehow criticizing Obama's "Dreamer" schemes?? Anyone know more about this?
