The way I see it: The 50 Tea Party members are now in the drivers seat. They should be able to steer Bohener in the right direction.

Could you please expand on that? This was promised, part of the deal of re-electing Boehner SOH, but I confess I’m too pistol-whipped lately to see any sunshine or rainbows.

This showed Boehner that he has to negotiate with the conservatives to get anything done.
He’s always refused to do that.
But now they have the organization and discipline to make him.

Great answer. The Republican leadership must now work with the 50 Tea Party members. If Boehner does not get their approval on bills, the bill will most likely fail, unless he wants to bargain with the DemRats.

Actually, now the GOP can no longer be seen as "shutting the gov't down". There were FAR more Dems voting for a HHS shutdown this time than Repubs.

Oh Noes. Does this mean that all of the non-essential people at DHS will get a few days off now?

Thank y’all for cheering me up! As a Texan, it’s hard to watch high-school games on Capitol Hill and predict or even understand what’s really happening. Thank you both, again.

Let the negotiations begin!

“Matt Fuller @MEPFuller
And the House Freedom Caucus has made an offer to leadership: 3-week CR that expires in 1 week if the Senate doesn’t go to conference.”
