House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) said on Sunday that the Senate should change its rules in order to pass a bill funding the Department of Homeland Security (DHS).
"I think they should change the rule," McCarthy said on NBC's "Meet the Press," suggesting the Senate invoke the so-called "nuclear option" to allow spending bills to only require a simple majority to advance instead of 60 votes.

Filibuster used to be 67 or 68 votes. Was reduced to 60 by Mondale. It could be reduced to 52 or so.

This is what McConnell should have done from the beginning. Harry Reid had no compunction about using it when he wants to get his bills passed .. or set aside.
Why on earth can’t we do the same .. BECAUSE THE DEMS WON’T LIKE US AND THE MEDIA WILL CASTIGATE US ..?? What a bunch of cowards .. looks like we need to clean house in the Senate AGAIN .. and that might give us enough CONSERVATIVES to get McConnell out of office; since he seems bent on doing whatever the DemocRATS want him to do.
I’m aware it would be on “him”. So was the Keystone pipeline and the reality is he doesn’t give a shxt and the media will blame the GOP regardless.
I’m hoping someone will lead a revolt in this country and the non socialized engineered side of the military steps in and supports the revolt.

Well, using the “nuclear” option was much too potentially and frighteningly explosive to secure a seat on the USSC for W. and we all had to wait with bated breath until Harry Reid passed that very simple rules change that allowed them to eliminate the big “F” in a targeted manner and pack the courts. The lesson is that R’s may only consider but may never,ever implement a rules change but D’s can do so whenever it damn well suits them. I hope that good old boy Mitch gets that....don’t want anyone in the GOPe to be embarrassed.
Kind of surprising coming from this guy McCarthy.
I’d have to see this kind of new awakening repeated several times over a good period of time before thinking it represents any change in political views.
