There is no way that we are capping the entire middle east, and why would we still be protecting Iraqi airspace?

The areas of coverage would require multiple AWACS on station 24/7. And again, I can’t imagine that given what we have going on in Afghanistan and Syria. Our ISIS strikes in Northern Iraq are certainly don’t constitute a major air offensive.

Are there still any American Patriot batteries in Iraq? I don’t think so.

We are flying over Iraq now (ISIS thing. . .you know. . .means we have assets flying over the airspace all the time and that means we have eyes monitoring the comings and going of all air activity in the country), and AWACs is not the only source we use to track airspace activities.

We have other assets in theater that provide coverage, from Air Force to Navy to whatever, and these assets provides us with very detailed coverage capability over Iraq.
