Unarmed does not mean harmless.
Guaranteed this incident will be used to pummel Governor Walker.
This is yet another gentle giant story.

2. I thought tasers and training were supposed to better equip law enforcement to subdue someone without shooting them.
I know the city just approved the body cams for Madison police - dunno if they’ve been implemented yet...
what kind of threat was the kid that the cop had to force his way into his apartment? Did the cop feel “disrespected” when he yelled “halt” and determined to force the kid to submit or pursue and kill him?
Don’t they have search warrants to go into people’s homes unless there is violence occurring inside that home?
something about this story stinks- not getting all the facts here
State of Wisconsin vs. Tony T Robinson
Dane County Case Number 2014CF000781
The defendant Tony T Robinson was found guilty of the following charge(s) in this case.
Armed Robbery, a class C felony, Wisconsin Statutes 943.32(2).
Dunno for sure if this is him - but is the same age and in Madison...
.
Groundhog Day.
This article offers an interesting glimpse into the Reuters Stylebook. When a black teen is involved in committing an offense, he is simply a “teen” in the headline. When a black teen is shot or otherwise harmed, it is then permissible to call him a “black teen.” Got it.

“Unarmed” indeed!
The cop was obviously armed, and was engaged in combat with the perp.
That’s one of the dirty little secrets of having a gun on hand. If you and I are fighting, and one of us has a gun, more or less by definition somebody is going to get shot.
If you have control of the gun, you will feel, accurately, that you have little choice but to shoot me to prevent me from taking it away and shooting you. I, OTOH, feel, again accurately, that I have little choice but to get it away from you and use it on you before you can shoot me.
Note that this has little to do with who initiated violence or who was “in the right.” It’s the simple presence of the lethal weapon.
One of the unintended consequences of having a gun involved in a fight. An excellent reason, btw, not to get into fights. You never know when the other guy might be armed and a shoving match become a life and death struggle.
The media formula:
First condemnation...
Second the rest of the story...
Third ignore the rest of the story...
Police will shoot anyone who decides to struggle and fight with them, and especially if they try to go for their service weapon.
Just saying, if you think doing it is an acceptable action, don’t be surprised at the potential ending.
Maybe they ought to run stories on how come there are so many black teen thugs that believe fighting with police is an appropriate response.
Our local news (so horrid we rarely watch it) went on and on last night about the dead suspect. I swear it was about 10 minutes at the top of the news, they went on and on about the “teen” who was “unarmed”, they interviewed people who said he was great, etc, the usual.
Then way at the end of the story, they said he was convicted of armed robbery in the last year.
He was 19. We only know of his record since he turned 18. In that one year he committed armed robbery.
Does anyone think he had no previous juvenile record? Yet the news readers acted like the police just barged in to kill someone randomly.
It was the most skewed, biased libtard news rendering I have ever seen. They should be ashamed. They showed the protestors with their “black lives matter” signs, etc.
We wondered “where are Al and Jesse?”.
Madison news stations are the worst. Most of the time they bash Gov. Walker, but last night they bashed the police and lied about the dead suspect, eulogizing him instead. It was amazing in its liberal bias.
I don’t expect to be able to tune in the local news for about 6 months.
