Benghazi Committee Chairman: "Gaps" In Clinton Emails

Rep. Trey Gowdy, R-South Carolina, the chairman of the special committee House Republicans created last year to investigate the 2012 attacks on a U.S. diplomatic facility in Benghazi, Libya, said there are "gaps of months and months and months" in former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton's emails she provided for his committee's investigation.

Clinton's email has come under public scrutiny since revelations last week that she used only her personal email account rather than a government address while at the State Department. Gowdy said his committee has received 800 pages of emails so far, but that there are Clinton shouldn't be in charge of deciding what is public record and that he has "lost confidence in the State Department" to do so.

"They're the ones who allowed this arrangement. They're the ones who did nothing about this arrangement until they got a request from our committee," he said. He added that the public deserves a "neutral, detached arbiter" to determine what is a matter of public record and what should be turned over to the special committee.

"I don't want everything. I just want everything related to Libya and Benghazi," he said.

CBS News' Bill Plante asked Mr. Obama Saturday when he learned about Hillary's private email system. "The same time everybody else learned it through news reports," the president told Plante. Despite alarms being raised WRT Hillary's use of personal emails for sending/receiving classified information, the president defended her. "Let me just say that Hillary Clinton is and has been an outstanding public servant," Mr. Obama told Plante. He added: "The policy of my administration is to encourage transparency, which is why my emails, the BlackBerry I carry around, all those records are available and archived," Mr. Obama said. "I'm glad that Hillary's instructed that those emails about official business need to be disclosed."

Ha!!! I just knew it. This is the first thing that occurred to me - that the dates of the e-mails that Hillary turned over for reviewal would be very interesting and might implicate her in a cover-up of the Benghazi terrorist attack on Sept 11, 2012.

Does Hillary actually think no one would notice a 2 or 3 months gap in her e-mails between the late summer of 2012 and post 2012 re-election of Barack Obama????

She is only about one tenth as smart as she thinks she is.

If Gowdy hadn’t held his cards close, kept his mouth shut, and silently gathered his ammunition, Hillary could and would have had a war room ready for this to break. She could have smoked up the place by now. Gowdy forcing the revelation of this little cover up operation she has going OBVIOUSLY caught her with no one ready. Now he can drag this all over her candidacy announcement.

Laughable that now it’s Chelsea who has to run interference for Shifty Clinton, since the Mika Brezinski media crowd has immediately headed for the exits.
