“Now I know why my local reservoir smells like Hoppes No9.
It’s all those lost guns”

Yes, just follow the oil slick.

BS. Fewer people are willing to disclose firearm ownership to some scum sucking telephone pollster with an agenda.

Guns should come with strong warnings about being lost in boating accidents it seems there is an epidemic of such tragic losses.

"People are smart not to admit to a pole they own a firearm."

Well, not if the firearm owner hates accordions. Other than that, I don't see any problem with telling them.

Trickle down effect: the regime spews one lie after another, claiming it’s perfectly okay. Pretty soon, lies are accepted as truth and we have this survey. Nobody in his right mind is going to admit they own a gun when that little tidbit will be used by the regime.

I could have told you that. The demonization of guns by the media, the feminization of young males by the schools. The "anti bullying" campaign by the schools and media are having the desired effect. One, at the most, two generations from now 99% of the population will be zombies and robots depending upon the Government to wipe their asses. They will be totally unable to defend themselves, provide for themselves. And last but not least, unable to think for themselves. The more civilized and educated we become, the less able to care for ourselves we become.

Don't believe it? Compare the sissies, the metrosexuals, the feminized males of today to the men, including Hollywood actors of the 1040s and the 1950s.

All the Government has to do is wait.

That is why we have so many new gun club/ranges, retailers spouting up in my neck of the woods.

How many guns are sold in the US?...
The system has received 156,577,260 applications since 1998

Those numbers are from 2012. Add another 16 Million per year since, or another 32 Million at least.

Well, everyone should know that if you leave them out in the sun too long, they will melt clean away.

Or maybe we've created an additional 150 Million households in recent years. The New Math is scary.

80 guns in 100 households per household sounds like a good start.

Certainly depends on the type of education. When one’s “book knowledge” consists of spurious indoctrination and pseudoscience, then society reaches a dead end. Never mind including hedonism and sloth among one’s activities.

I usually tell them I used to own one, but I lost it in a boating accident.

What? What's that question?

Guns? No - we don't have any of those dangerous things in this house!

Come on people, I’m sure that our wonderful and trusting government wouldn’t go for the low down dirty scheme of calling people pretending to be a pollster and asking all manner of questions on what guns you own.

I mean, what would be the purpose of that?

I’m sure we can trust them to NOT do that, I mean it’s not like they are trying to ban bullets or register guns or anything, right?

"That’s a significant decline since the late 1970s and early 1980s, when about half of Americans told researchers there was a gun in their household."

So let us see, Gun sales are at a record high yet the real story headline here is that when researches "ASKED" if people had a gun in the house less said yes in the here and now as opposed to the 70s and 80s...

Well... OK then.

Actually, who answers the telephone? Who still has a land line?
***************************
Me, and it’s for my ability to call out. My family knows I don’t answer the phone if it rings. I’ve never had a cell phone.

Allows me to sleep in peace without all of the robocalls, etc., as I usually sleep during the day time.

Back to topic... The survey results are total BS! The gangsta crowd and legal gun owners are not going to tell some unknown person on the phone that they have a gun.

Perhaps the “survey” is really being conducted by the Feds, to find out who has guns...

I live on a rural street with just a couple houses, during a storm some lines came down with the power and phone outages. The power came back in a few hours, but the not the phone.

I assumed that someone else would report the land line being out for about 4-5 days and no one did, I finally called and they came out a few days later to repair it – No one else cared.
..

I figured that would throw out that perhaps the Feral Government is doing those ‘surveys’.

It’s not beyond the realm of possibility is it? They could just contract with a polling firm to call everyone with a phone on the pretense of a poll and Voila! They have another data point on who has guns.

With everything else they’ve done, would anyone put it past them to try that?
