Is Netanyahu About to Lose the Election? [Israel]
The Times of Israel ^ | Thursday, March 11, 2015 | Haviv Rettig Gur

Its campaign has grown frantic, its activists are moribund. And though it would be wrong to bury the ruling Likud party, its supporters are right to be worried.

The Likud party is losing the election. That’s not the assessment of pollsters or analysts but of Likud itself, which has spent much of the last few days in an increasingly frantic scramble to warn right-wing voters that voting for any other right-wing party could lead to a left-wing government.

“We might wake up in a week and find that Tzipi [Livni] and [Isaac] Boujie [Herzog] are prime ministers of Israel,” Netanyahu himself warned in a campaign video Wednesday after multiple polls showed Likud dropping to 21 seats while the rival center-left Zionist Union rose to 24 and even 25.

That scenario is “a real danger,” warned Likud MK Yisrael Katz.

“When the right was split in 1992, it brought the Oslo Accords. In 1999, it brought the [Ehud] Barak government,” a Likud statement warned ominously, urging supporters of Jewish Home, Shas, Kulanu and other parties to switch to the center-right mainstay in order to avoid a similar calamity.

If Bibi looses it is probably another sign of the End of Days. I could never see Bibi making a deal with the Antichrist, but a Leftist PM would.

The stupidity of voters, even Israelis, is legendary. In May 1945, the wartime coalition government was dissolved. Two months later, PM Winston Churchill the charismatic wartime leader, was voted out and replaced by Labour’s Clement Atlee. Atlee, as Churchill remarked: “Mr. Atlee is a very modest man and he has a lot to be modest about.”

Should the Israelis reject Netanyahu and the loony Leftists be put in charge, things are going to be a lot more dangerous for Israel's survival. I do not understand Israeli's reasoning. The proposed solution actually advances the cause of Israel's mortal enemy, Iran.

Perhaps Bibi needs to order an Israeli strike on Iran's nuke facilities before he leaves office?

All I can say at this point is to pray for Israel, and that it turns out in Bibi's favor. The twists and turns of events of it all are mind-boggling and hugely disturbing.

I think every campaign spikes up the rhetoric at the end of a an election cycle. What is different about this one? This time, the media is invested more heavily in the leftists.

Keep in mind, too, that Obama has operatives working overtime in Israel, trying to destroy Bibi—so I wouldn’t put it past these operatives to “suggest” such stories to fellow liberals in the Israeli press.

just sayin’.

I don’t see the Israeli left being able to form a government.

I think that Rivlin will ask Netanyahu or perhaps Bennett to try and form a government...even if Likud gets a couple less seats than Labor. I like Netanyahu but prefer Bennett.

I think it will be Likud, Jewish Home and some smaller parties that form the new government.

I don’t think a unity government with Likud and Labor is a possibility.

I bet there are new Israeli elections in less than 2 years.

Agree.

With the exit of Bibi the ones who remain could be the very ones that the Bible states will sign the false peace covenant with the Antichrist.

The Word of God says that the body of Christ is removed before the Antichrist signs the covenant of death (the false peace covenant with Israel) and that his true agenda will be hidden until the middle of the Tribulation when he is literally indwelt by Satan himself. No one can really be sure who that Antichrist is until the Jews sign the false peace treaty with him after the church is removed in the Rapture. 2 Thessalonians 2.7: "For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way." It is the church who must be taken out of the way before the Antichrist can rise up.

My question is: what is the Israeli equivalent of Detroit or Chicago?

Looks like Bibi is getting a first hand view of "the Chicago Way" by the Obolo slime machine.

Wonder how many SEIU thugs are over there helping?

Correct....our fate was sealed the second the Kenyan got elected (probably a lot sooner than that but you get my drift).

Israel has an everlasting Covenant with God Almighty. We don’t....& considering how we’ve turned our back on God and on Israel, we are now cursed by God.

That’s exactly the way I see it.

I love this guy. At least from What I know of him, or rather saw of him, on the world stage. He seems to have Israel’s best interests at heart and speaks like a leader. Why thye’d replace him I don’t know.

Netenyahooo brought it on himself. He had the chance to wipe out the terrorists that keep attacking them (some call them palestinians) several times but never pushed all the way. He should have cut the head off the snake when he had a chance - even the arabs were going to let him do it without much protest. Isreal deserves to die at this point. But what should we expect when most of them were educated in the liberal west? This sets up an interesting possiblity. Weak lib leaders come in, ISIS attacks, draws in others like Iran, Syria spill over, etc. Russia comes in and weak lib isreali leaders forced to use nukes to fight them back.

If it makes any difference, in terms of what you’re saying, the LGBT crowd voted Tel Aviv one of the most gay-friendly places in the world.

There is precedent of course. That’s precisely what American Conservatives did and seem to be doing a third time

That won’t happen with mankind, the way it is now ... HOWEVER ... you’ll probably be pleased to hear that when Jesus, the Messiah of Israel, returns to earth (which is happening relatively quickly from the way things are now) ... and He sets up his one-world government, ruling over all the nations of the world from Jerusalem ... at that time He will kill every single Muslim in the world and will eradicate Islam from the face of this globe!

The polls didn’t change much from before to after the speech. He got a very small bump while the speech buzz was at a maximum.

Remember, Netanyahu “losing” the election doesn’t mean what it does here, and doesn’t mean he won’t be PM. And, unlike here, voting for minor parties is NOT “wasting” your vote; those parties can negotiate to their own advantage and be part of the government.
