Illinois Rep. Aaron Schock is resigning his seat in Congress.
The 33-year-old Republican has been dogged by questions about his spending of taxpayer and campaign dollars. On Monday afternoon, POLITICO posed a lengthy set of questions about charging the government and his campaign tens of thousands of dollars in questionable mileage reimbursements.

That was one of the worst kept secrets on the hill. At one point, he was considered on the fast track to the Senate. Too bad, he would’ve fit in well in that den of thieves.
Not to give him a pass, but this will be the story tonight rather than the $500 million worth of American weaponry unaccounted for in Yemen.

Exactly. Bread and circuses. There was a news story here in IL about two weeks ago that a Democratic consulting firm was behind this.

I'm not one of those who'll try to minimize this by complaining that Dimocrats do it all the time. Since when do Conservatives want to be judged by THEIR standard?

It’s well known in Peoria (his district) that he’s gay. At least that’s what a former girlfriend (from Peoria) told me.
I live in his district, (it's a lot more than Peoria) I've always believed he was homo, based on all the articles published about his homoness plus my infallible gaydar. (I've met and talked to him).
He was our great conservative hope but as soon as he took office, he started talking about "global warming" and "climate change".

Schock is a dirt bag RINO who seemed to enjoy publicly back stabbing conservatives. Good riddance.
So he made a rather crazy office....he did pay it back. I will not be happy if he is replaced with a Democrat.
I hate when we do that. We want the gay Nazis to shut up but then we want to force Republicans to say they are gay.....Linda is always being begged by Conservatives to come out of the closet.....Why the hell do we want that? Are we that far gone that we want Republicans to claim they are gay?
He seems to have been cheating taxpayers. No one who is cheating the taxpayers should be in office. I don’t care if he paid it back. It is a question of integrity and trust. If he will lie about something like this (the auto mileage and reimbursements), then he will lie about anything. Either he stole money from the government, or he tampered with the odometer (or some of both?). Is this acceptable in any form?
No. I just hope we don’t end up with a Democrat. He also was a shoe in for Senator......now we will have to suffer longer with 2 Democratic Senators and goodness knows for how long. Otherwise, I don’t care that he is gone.
