I want you to check this out. We slaughters Chinese and had troops near Laos when that quivering Truman ORDERED US TO STOP!! MacArthur was fired because he was crushing the Chinese bastards. I suspect you don’t have a clue about Korea. We killed 300,000 of those bastards but in the end— it was the Democrat that collapsed.( just like today)

Yes, but that was later on in the battle....I'm talking about when the Chinese first joined the war and attacked. They totally fooled us in how many Chinese troops had gathered as they were masters at camouflage. Our aerial pilots did not see them....it worked as they swarmed the troops at that time.

McArther was fired because he wanted ‘to enter China and use Nukes’ once he had pushed back the Chinese far enough to do just that....and that wasn't going to be. Being in a war between N. Korea vs. S. Korea and “assisting” them was our mission...not war directly with China. Which had McArthur had his way that's exactly the direction he would have gone.

I think the most important issue with McArthur was that he wanted to cross the Yalu River into China. The fear was that this would bring in a far larger Chinese military presence. We had to make the battle cost enough so that China would decide on an acceptable peace, but not so costly that they needed revenge to save face. Given that my son has almost 20 years in the Army and Special Forces, I tend to read and think a lot about military history and tactics. Please remember that Truman had the guts to drop the BOMB, without which horror we probably would have had a subsequent nuclear war, probably with Russia.
