Same here. He said has to spend time going over paper work on the “if you like your plan, you can keep your plan” plan that got cancelled, any waivers you may have, your new plan and any other paperwork to figure out how to answer it.

Unless of course someone in the household works, claims head of household and has to pay the penalty. From what I understand, they don’t offer health insurance at his employer for her parents! They all refuse so I guess she would have to pay the penalty for all and she has an income of about $45k.

I can imagine what happens if you ignore it. Probably charge major penalties!

Is this why my husband got two W2 forms? All that is listed on the second is an amount on line 12a. Has anyone else had this?

If you are expecting a refund then you better check that box. If you have reached that relatively low threshold where you owe the feds it just doesn’t matter for now. Currently all they can do is penalize your refund, though I imagine they are keeping track of who they need to send to the re-education camps in the future.

Quite common to get two W2’s but usually for having multiple states’ income.

There are only four box 12 entries. If your husbands’ W2 has five entries in Box 12 then there would be a second W2 printed.

Thank you so much. I checked and that is the reason.

I always do our taxes because we do the one without deductions and this threw me for a loop. It’s always been straight forward before; one W2 for each of us, plug in the numbers, add, subtract and then write the check.

Do you own a gun is the next invasive question they will ask.

Do I need to declare what the feds already know that our gutted Medicare and Tricare Life (Ret Military over 65) secondary sucks?
