I know this might have been mentioned in earlier threads. I am just stuned because it was on the front page of att/yahoo this morning.
Of course, Beth Greenfield, the "journalist" who penned the piece, wouldn't expound much on the writings of Heather Barwick--the woman who opposes SSM. Instead, she spends 6 of the 12 paragraphs on the article citing homosexuals who say she is wrong, and her story doesn't matter.

World Magazine’s March 21, 2015 has a great article on this subject - page 44: “The Kids are NOT All Right”.

Exactly, the author marginalized the young woman’s story as if she were Jerry Falwell opining on the subject. There was real vehement Hate for her because she didn’t agree with the official narrative.

Yahoo only posted this article as a vehicle to attack Heather Barwick with the replies of a bunch of homosexual activists. Barwick makes a solid argument, a second mother or a second father cannot replace the father or mother that is lost in a homosexual relationship. There is a reason why God created families with one mother and one father. Children need to be raised by both.

Don't you realize that liberals have decided the subject is settled.
Any further complaints will illicit a "hate crime" indictment, loss of job or social ostracizing which ever is more convenient to the thought police.

The homos who argue that she (the daughter) is denying them their rights are the ones in denial about their effed up lifestyle.

Looks like mainly denial and personal attacks to me. That’s fallacious reasoning if I ever saw it. Sounds like some people not wanting to put this out of writing shows that some people really can’t let it down because it is at least somewhat correct.

A kid has a right to a normal set of parents. Conceiving a child and depriving it of one half of a normal set is child abuse.

My wife is the product of the same upbringing. Her mother decided after having 2 children and 5 years of marriage that she was gay and moved out. It was her moms partner that made my wife detest lesbian relationships. He moms partner hated men so much that my wife said they would have these lesbian couples over and they would all rant how much they all hated men. She said at first it confused her, and then she saw how they fed off each other on the hated. Today she still doesn’t like lesbian women because of the hatred many have. She said they are more intolerant of her being straight than she being intolerant of them being lesbian.

While I sympathize with Heathers pain caused by being abandoned by her heterosexual father, her pain has nothing to do with same-sex marriage. We are all entitled to our personal narratives, but I strongly disagree with Heathers contrived attempt to offer her personal story as a case for blocking other families access to marriage rights. You are entitled to your relationship. You have the right to associate with whom you like.
You are not entitled to change the definition of marriage.

Her essay in a nutshell, even in the best of circumstances, a gay household is a empty facade.

Same-sex marriage and parenting withholds either a mother or father from a child while telling him or her that it doesnt matter. That its all the same. But its not, she writes. A lot of us, a lot of your kids, are hurting. My fathers absence created a huge hole in me, and I ached every day for a dad. I loved my moms partner, but another mom could never have replaced the father I lost. But while her argument is heartfelt, note some gay-parenting supporters, its also full of holes.
They didn't list any holes that I saw. The very next paragraph is merely a turdburglar homoagenda activist saying she is wrong.
So... that settles THAT?
WRONG!
Just because some fudgepacker says something about gay "marriage" doesn't mean he is some authority on the needs of children.

So she’s the “Heather” from “Heather has two mommies” and the gaystapo have their collective panties in a wad (hmmm, poor choice of words when dealing with this demographic?) I could just envision her mom and “significant other” lamenting “where did we go wrong?!??” But hey, it’s all good, things will work out. Supposedly around 4% of the population have homosexual tendencies, that’s 1 in 20 who are “born that way” Odds are somebody in the Duck Dynasty clan or the Duggar family will come out before long, and the LGBT/FUBAR community will have the mother of all spontaneous orgasms if and when that happens.

Sounds like she is against gay/lesbian parenting, that it excludes either the mother or father role. Opposing gay marriage is not the same thing; Parenting is her focus. Guess logic has no place in today's discourse. Like the comment about denying civil rights - clearly begging the question.
Single parenting also excludes one key role.
To: SoFloFreeper
I had a (former) far Left friend with whom I had this discussion. She was not married, had no kids, but her twin sister was married and had a child. I asked her if she believed her sister and her sister's husband brought different qualities to their child in his upbringing. She said ‘of course’. Then why do you think anyone has the right to tell a child they must be brought up by two mommies or two daddies. No answer. The compassion for all, even the aberrant in our society, is foremost. And it is never about the child.....it's always about the adult. PS-I don't think it's fair that a woman should decide she is getting older and better have a child now, without an involved father, either. This is happening more often, too.
