A man, woman and their 4-year-old boy at an unidentified Inland Border Patrol checkpoint are ordered and pulled from their vehicle, questioned and taken into custody all for the seeming offense of refusing to say where they were headed.
A video of the incident, recorded by the familys dashboard camera, opens with the man and woman chit-chatting with their son in the back, later identified as 4, and pulling up to a border checkpoint. The man, whos driving, has his window a third of the way down.

You’re barking up the wrong tree here in my opinion. There is nothing justifiable in this goon’s conduct, reactions or response. Clearly.
It's a BIG DEAL.
Yes, I used to live in Malone. You get more hassle coming back from Canada sometimes than I ever did on the Mexican border. Maybe they are right to keep an eye out for those French-speaking people so desperate to come to America (to shop at Wal-Mart and buy our cheaper gas).
Article author should have written “interior Border Patrol checkpoint.”
You probably already know this, but their intent is to catch illegals who have hooked up with a pre-arrange US-based transporter (= Hispanic with a panel van) after successfully crossing the border on foot. Fairly common 25-75 miles of the border within in CA, AZ, NM, and TX.
Here’s a Wikipedia link on them:

Determining our citizenship is fine. Beyond that—and producing a driver’s license or passport—tt is none of their business where you have been, where you are going, or what you are doing.
Nothing new....okay....the wife gets beaten every weekend and it’s nothing new - 99.9% of the time. Did she ask for it? Nothing new? I mean he only hit her enough to remind her who is the boss, what’s the harm?
The victim here was an American citizen and family whose provenance and veracity had no observable question. A BS claim about a “dog alerting” is just that - BS.
Just because you can get used to oppression doesn’t me the rest of us have to stand for it. Goons. Nazi effing Goons.
Sure. I know that. Especially here.
But in my opinion, it was a reasonable question which was met with an unreasonable response. I would have answered...and have many, many times when I cross over going out and coming in.
The first rule in any situation is to avoid conflict. Run if you can. But since you must pass through the checkpoint, don't be a jerk.
I did, and I thought it was apparent that my questions were rhetorical, but thanks for the link...I can still learn things,
On some level, I can agree with prudence. But increasingly, prudence leads to acceptance and that leads to ‘norm’ which ends in subjugation.
At some point, ‘points’ have to be made and held fast.
Doesn't make 'em right or legal under the Constitution. If they're on the border, no problem. Fully within the United States, and impeding citizens who haven't left the country (or even state) is bullstuff.
Later
(whatever that is)...Anywhere within 100 miles of our border, North, East, South or West.
Agreed. But I'm not at that point yet.
this would be on the I-8 just before you head up to the Laguna mountains. there is a check point on the i-5 just north of Oceanside, and one on the I-15, most times the I5/I15 ones are closed

You are right, after all, once an illegal alien makes it over the ‘fence,’ he is home free. And we can go on fussing about how we aren’t doing enough to stop illegals.
