I agree just pick and stick with it.
Going back and forth twice a year is not good for one’s sanity or health.
Let’s get rid of it.
However, West Texas should still be on Mt Time.
“Every time you have the spring forward or fall back, you get in the coffee shops, churches and everybody’s complaining about it and all of a sudden it dawned on me it is kind of a hassle,” said Texas state Rep. Dan Flynn...”
How is it a hassle?
Almost every clock automatically adjusts itself.
Will we lose that extra hour of sunlight???
Get rid of two time zones while we’re at it as well. Just have Eastern and Western time zones.
I love it, but I’m fine if Texas chooses not to go on DST.
Changing the clocks in NOT a big deal. It’s “a hassle” because people are lazy. If they can’t do it with their TV remote, it’s a hassle.
I like DST, living in the NE.
It was the idiot Markey from MA who extended it.
I have always hated DST.
.
Y2K would have been a non-issue had it not been for DST.
I’ve lived under both systems, and it’s far better keeping DST.
By the time work ends it’s PITCH BLACK outside.
No thanks.
I like daylight savings time. Up here around the 45th parallel, the sun us rising earlier and earlier after March 1st, and it is better to sleep in until at least 6 or 7 o’clock with DST.
And in the fall, we can still have some daylight up north until about 7 pm in October. Otherwise it would be dark at 6 pm on Halloween.
Destroy it.
Are we as a nation too stupid or lazy to handle such a trivial task?
We adopted Daylight Savings Time for a reason, and that reason is as valid today as ever.
Folks enjoy a bit more daylight for summer outdoor activities after returning from work. Barbecuing, baseball, you name it. The alternative would be summer hours for work, maybe 7 to 4 instead of 8 to 5, but as I see it that entails far more hassle and conflict. The US is on Daylight Savings Time for 2/3 of the year already, but if it were made standard year round, there are places that would see nightfall at 3 or 3:30 PM during December and January.
Prepare for another raft of complaints about that nut punch.
Changing time is upsetting for a day or two, but I really like that extra hour of sunlight in the afternoon—especially at this time of year. It’s certainly worth the trouble of adjusting.
come on Texas - please pass this bill. CST forever. DST is just a stupid idea for this day and age. It is a hassle and it wastes energy. DST is just another progressive idea that does not work.
Standard time and stick to it and forget it.
The twice a year mess is just that, a stupid mess.
If this is the biggest issue that the States have to worry about...
That’s a stupid article. There’so no “CHALLENGE” to the law ... the law provides that any state can “opt out” if they want! ... LOL ...
BESIDES THAT ... it’s getting pretty stupid around here if the biggest problem people have is changing a clock by one hour!
