It's going to be hard for the Republicans to field a presidential candidate as enthusiastic about the H-1B visa as U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas). Cruz, who announced his presidential bid this morning, once proposed an immediate increase in the base H-1B cap from 65,000 to 325,000. Cruz offered the H-1B increase as an amendment in 2013 to the Senate's comprehensive immigration bill.

That sounds like an awfully big assumption on your part, ad we know what happens when we assume... Unless you have some evidence that those endorsements have caused Walker to change his positions on immigration in favor of illegal immigration, then that sounds like something you are AFRAID will happen, not something that HAS happened.
Due to the clear and present danger to Wisconsin citizens by thieving, raping, and murdering illegal invaders, Walker could have implemented a State of Emergency and mobilized the full assets at his disposal to make Wisconsin a very, unforgiving state to work in for illegal invaders.
And have you looked at the relevant statutes regarding ordering a state of emergency? Do you have any idea if what you are proposing is even legally possible? If not, how can you be so angry at Walker for not doing something that may not even be possible for him to do? And even if Walker could order a state of Emergency to deal with the crime problem, it could not legally be directed solely or even primarily at illegals.
Target the Chamber of Amnesty members that employ the illegals! Target landlords that give housing to illegals!
Remember I asked you to tell me what Walker could do as governor. These steps you suggest, while good steps to take, are ones that have to be done by the feds. The states cannot enforce federal laws concerning hiring illegals, etc. So in this case, you are mad at the feds, not at Walker.
But you treat Walker like he is not responsible at all for the increase in illegal invaders in his state. That's like saying Moon Beam Brown is not responsible for the increased mexifornication of Cali. Doesn't fly.
When a politician takes Chamber of Amnesty money, they ALWAYS do the bidding of their masters. Prove me wrong. You can't.
Walker has sold his soul to the Chamber-of-Amnesty and we, the American citizens, are going to pay for it.
The real lie in that article is that CRUZ is proposing no such thing. This amendment, like the comprehensive immigration bill, is from the LAST CONGRESS, and it has been dead since early in the Congress.
Also, even the description of the amendment is not exactly accurate. Any increase in H-1B by Cruz’s amendment would have been based on a verified shortage.
Now, how important is the point that the amendment didn’t get anywhere because the comprehensive immigration bill didn’t get anywhere and is now dead?
Cruz’s amendment would have (1) made ANY KIND of path to citizenship absolutely forbidden for any illegal alien. (2) Would have controlled the LEGAL system with specific quotas and costs. Small business visas would have required a million dollars. Others would have required a visa holder already to have a research position in a university or industry on a legal basis, and the tech visa would have been allowed only in a time of shortage.
All of this is MOOT, of course, because the comprehensive bill is dead in the water....as a result of killer amendments such as Cruz’s.
So, he was doing strategic killing of a bad bill, but this is presented as if it’s an active proposal. It happened in 2013...2 years ago. It is dead.
Cruz is PROPOSING no such thing.
Cruz’s amendments DID include illegals. He proposed absolute prohibition of any kind of path to citizenship whatsoever for ANY illegal alien.
Do you agree with that?
It is not up to me to prove you wrong. You made the assertion - it is up to you to support that assertion with verifiable facts, if you want to be taken seriously.

I am fully in favor of holding politicians responsible for what they do or don't do - but I don't hold them responsible for what they can't do. So far, you have not given any specific examples of something that Walker could legally do as governor to reduce the number of illegal aliens in Wisconsin that he has refused to do - nor have you given specific examples of things Walker has done to increase the number of illegal aliens in Wisconsin.
In the case of California, I can point to a number of things the politicians here have done to encourage illegal immigration, from sanctuary cities to forbidding the police from reporting illegals they arrest to ICE; from granting drivers licenses to illegals to actively encouraging them to sign up for Obamacare. Now, if you have examples of Walker doing things like that, let me know.
So far, you have made a lot of statements and allegations, but have provided very little substance.
Coincidentally, today Rush is talking about pretty much this same thing!

Well there is nothing in it for me since I am 63 and will never be replaced by an H1B type. But I count this as a distinct mark against Cruz.
Let me say it again: the proposal was a killer amendment offered to a 2013 (two years ago) comprehensive immigration bill. The comprehensive immigration bill has been dead since early in the PREVIOUS congress.
So. The bill is dead, and yet people bring it up?
Saboteurs.
The author of this article is a great propagandist. Why?
Because the Cruz Amendment was TURNED DOWN. It is dead. It was offered as an amendment to the comprehensive immigration bill that everyone hated.
If it was EVERYTHING the liberals want, THEN WHY did they turn it down?
1. It absolutely prohibited any illegal alien EVER having a path to citizenship.
2. It made ANY immigrant acceptable ONLY by LEGAL immigration.
3. It required: business H-1Bs to put up a million bucks. It doubled the fees for all H-1Bs. It required other H-1Bs to ALREADY have a research position. For other H-1Bs, it required the Bureau of Labor to VERIFY that we have a labor shortage in that particular field.
Why, if this was such a “liberal” gold mine, did that previous Senate KILL IT? It’s obvious if you read the above restrictions it would have placed on the comprehensive immigration bill.
Finally, let me repeat: It is dead. Harry Reid and pals killed it.

Has Cruz said this recently? Has he been asked to explain it? I’d like to hear what he has to say about it first before writting him off, as you have.
He has not said this recently. Even this article quickly passes by the fact that this was an amendment offered 2 years ago in 2013. AND that the amendment was killed. See #72
There is more to the story than 63. There are American companies laying off STEM workers, replacing them with H1B workers and forcing the laid off citizens to train their lower wage replacements or be denied severance. H1B is not, like amnesty, a bright red line but neither is it something that I support or will rationalize.
