I was wondering who the rest of the ten countries were.

Sudan is important, as they had a growing Iranian connection, and could provide the Houthis quick support from closeby, and are just across the water from Mecca if the fight ever comes to there.

Little Eritrea, just across the water from Yemen, was just hosting Houthi and Iranian delegations - so I guess that they are in for a little “Come to Mohammad” meeting with the Sunnis (Eritrean muslims are almost all Sunni).

Pakistan is the real potential trump card against Iran. Pakistan coming over Iran’s back door would be worse for Iran, than the Houthis coming over the Saudi’s back door would be for the Saudis.

When you add up Turkey, Egypt and Pakistan, things could look a lot worse for the Shia.

Things are shaping up for quite the Summer of Death, as the wave of military mobilizations spreads.

In Indianapolis, gas was $2.09 at 5pm.
At 10:30pm, when I left the city, it was $2.65.

Our local gas hasn’t gone up from $2.19 yet, but I’m sure it will in the morning.

$#.00 by the weekend anyone?

You give the President entirely too much power. Where was he when the entire western world blew up over Martin Luther’s Protestant Reformation. There was the 30 Years War, and many other years of war as well. This Sunni/Shia rift is more than 1,000 years old. If you want to blame something, blame the age of the cell phone and other INSTANT media. This conflict has festered for centuries with populations that bordered each other. Fast communication is why it is exploding now. Now it can jump from country to country bypassing countries that are less important. If you think a Republican victory in 2016 is going to fix this mess, go read your Reformation history.

Yeman’s population is 57% Sunni, and 42% Shia. Iran is Shia, and Saudi Arabia is Sunni. The Shia Houthi just overthrew the Sunni President we supported. Why would Obama be sorry that Saudi Arabia is supporting our ally by bombing the rebels? It is useful to have facts and think things through before posting.

Why would Enterprise put the /s at the end to show that the comment was not to be taken literally?

Secret intelligence files held by Yemeni security forces and containing details of American intelligence operations in the country have been looted by Iran-backed militia leaders, exposing names of informants and plans for U.S.-backed counter-terrorism operations...

I guess it depends on whether your sarcasm was aimed at making Obama look stupid, or aimed at making the whole situation look stupid. My point was that the problem is based in Muslim hates and history, and that we don’t have that much influence on this history. Meanwhile, here is a very good link on the current impact of this new little? war. Articles by Wall St. J., Reuters and others.

It was aimed at making Obama look stupid. But that would be like saying a red rose is red.

The USA gets whipsawed by interests in the Middle East like
a tumble weed in the wind. We are fools that are losing our nation over this cesspool.

9-11 was supposedly done by Sunnis and Saudis and Al-Queada. Saddam was a Sunni running Iraq. Iran contained him. The Sunnis and their AQ pals had more US blood on their hands in Iraq than the Shiites who we armed. Then we bought the Sunni friendship and then our casualties declined.

There is no end to this problem with the Muslims except for the inevitable sacrifice and collapse of our own nation. If the wars don’t get us our resulting debt will because we refuse to keep our nose out.

I don’t give one flying xxxx about the ME except I want the USA out of it entirely. Let those who live there either make peace with each other or create their own version of the hereafter.

These wars are always created by war mongers and profiteers who not only think they can outsmart the masses and then profit...they actually do profit from geo-political events that they create it.

Speaking of the Saudis....why are the 28 redacted pages on the 911 report being kept hidden? Why - because the Saudis had their fingers in it, and since the current propaganda machine points to the “Shiite problem” and because of Iran that would muddy the waters. We need to extricate ourselves from this schizophrenic hell hole now.
