Does anyone besides me find it incredible that NOT ONE PERSON tried to contact someone via cell phone during that decent?.....

I have thought about that. I'm not well versed in technology and the various devices - maybe they were out of cell range? When the plane hit - most everything was destroyed.

And the other part of why no one contacted could be because they were unaware. The FTSB French guy said during the presser that they did not hear screaming until just moments before the crash - it was a gradual descent so I think no one knew until it was too late. But then again, couldn’t they hear the pilot pounding on the cockpit door? Maybe they WERE just out of cell range - they were in some pretty remote mountains sounds like. The FTSB guy said they can’t even land a helicopter, they have to load each dead person one at a time so it’s going to take a long time to get the area cleaned up.

A lot of planes now have wifi for use while in the air. The survivors would have had texts or messages of some kind if the people had been able to use their devices. it’s just that out of 150 people, no one noticed that they were going down in time to send one of those short messages.

i do find it really odd.
