My wife got a call from the IRS about a sketchy return using her SS#. We didn’t file yet and they verified it was a bogus return. Never get a refund, free loan to the gubmit.
Everyone needs to E-file as soon as they can so that someone can’t grab their withholding and estimated payments. If you don’t have to file, file an informational return anyway. Disrupt the ID thieves.
