House Speaker John Boehner said Iran would not hold up its end of any agreement over its nuclear program, and that he was ready to ratchet up sanctions on the country if needed.

Boehner said on CNN's state of the union that Iran's leaders "have no intention of keeping their word," and the fact that they are even negotiating is evidence current sanctions on Iran are working.

Boehner opposes an agreement the Obama administration and other countries are negotiating to try to convince Iran to curtail its nuclear program in return for an easing of economic sanctions.

He also said there has to be a “willing partner” (i.e. Hamas) to have a two state solution. Dana Bash was somewhat silenced with that statement.

I don’t know if a good deal with Iran can be reached or not. But I’m not comfortable with Israel using the US Congress to influence US treaty negotiations. And I was 100% okay with Tom Cotton’s letter and Netanyahu’s visit.

Boehner and the GOPe’ have pretty much rendered themselves irrelevant. He and most of the rest of the GOPe House and Senate are all talk ...no walk. So what ya going to do Boehner? Bluster, spew, ...weep? Or, instead of following the Constitution to restore the rule of law....just file another lawsuite ,or open another “go no where” investigation? sheeesh....

Another way of looking at that statement is that Boehner said the GOP in Congress will do nothing to stop the agreement in the first place.

In the words of Nonie Darwish, "It is interesting to see President Obama trying to make a nuclear deal with Iran because Iran, an Islamic theocracy, must make a deal that is Sharia compliant." Any "deal," or treaty with Iran must be defined by the Sharia or Islamic law.

Islamic Iran pursues Jihad, or holy war, against infidels and all other non-Islamic countries. According to the Sharia, Jihad is the duty of all Muslims, especially the head of state. Therefore, by Sharia law, any treaty that smacks of a truce or peace must be entered into only out of temporary weakness, and is limited to ten years.

Iran is economically weak and is the enemy of a Sunni Muslim majority. It feels it will remain so until it gains superiority through the acquisition and manufacture of nuclear weapons, and the ballistic missiles necessary to deliver those weapons to infidels, specifically Israel, Europe, and the United States. Iran has violated every anti nuclear weapons treaty since it was taken over by Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini's mullah's in 1979.

It will continue to do so, regardless of any treaty, until it achieves its nuclear weapons goal. Despite any restrictions, it will continue to spin an expanding array of centrifuges, enriching uranium to weapons grade, and producing plutonium until its finally able to manufacture a nuclear weapons arsenal, long before Obama's ten year moratorium is up. Obama is like a prospector seeking gold, finding only fool's gold.

Without adequate sanctions his treaty is a fool's goal.
