Allegedly Senator Harry Reid had a freak accident with a piece of exercise equipment, which forced him to make an ER visit. The equipment at fault was claimed to be an elastic exercise band that failed. Here’show they described it:

I thought I heard something like that but don’t recall specifics.
He had deals with China going which figured in part with the assault on Cliven Bundy over land dingy harry wanted for a chinese solar station deal.
So I wouldn’t rule out chinese Triads or similar gang involvement in his “lesson”.

Exercise equipment? Ha! No way. He’s been known to be involved with some bad people in his personal dealings. Somebody trounced on this guy. He’s got a snarky, smart-ass mouth on the Senate floor where’s he’s protected. But in the private sector, you think some mob enforcer cares whether he’s Senate majority leader? I say he mouthed off to the wrong people and somebody popped him a couple of good ones in the face.

It’s frigging hilaroious... especially the “FINISH HIM!!”
There’s an episode of Mythbusters where they were testing myths about sobering up; exercise was one of them, and Adam Savage went on a treadmill while drunk... with similar results.
Pretty damned funny...
