I know that many Progs will contest this. "We don't hate families! Why I have a mother/father/spouse/child/etc.. who means the world to me! That's crazy wingnut hater talk!". That's probably true, and as individuals I'm winning to concede that they may think families are spiffy. As Progressives, however, they are in service to an ideology whose greatest obstacle is the extended and especially the nuclear family. Not Conservatives, not Christians, not the Koch brothers. The family is the greatest threat to the Progressive worldview.

The mother and father are the first and most influential at shaping a child’s values. This impedes the collectivists from remaking humans to their ideal and thus from their vision of Utopia.
Destroy the most nurturing and most perfect system of humanization of children and you destroy moral formation, and a Rational mind (true understanding of Natural Law Theory), and that Autonomy (true self-esteem) in the child which gives meaning and understanding to both past and future.
Destroy the Natural Family and you destroy the civil society and Freedom is never possible. Children will remain dependents and puerile, ruled by irrational emotions like the Ferguson mob.
Without Virtue (and virtue is instilled by loving people in the formative years), there is no civil society. Tyranny and slavery is the only possible results of irrational, immoral people.
Without the ability to understand Natural Law Theory—you are irrational. You will not have Common Sense. Removed from the mother/father paradigm, warps the perceptions of Natural Law. It embeds irrational concepts and warps desires and character formation.
The removal of children from their mother and forcing mothers into the “work” place aways from formation of Virtue in children has been promoted (on steroids) by the Marxist feminists so our children will be total slaves (formed by the State) as Lenin stated-—give me your children for 4 years and they are mine for life. This destruction of Free Will and forced dependency of children to be totally irrational (as Ferguson crowds) is their intention.
With non-loving devoted mother and father-—children will be emotional cripples (dehumanized) for life and dysfunctional. After 3 generations of “trained” programmed children-—they are devoid of Love and of Caring and of Virtue. The banality of evil:

The left views their parents as an obstacle that must be overcome.
They maintain and now demand their childlike views and behavior be accepted as the norm.
Sadly, we have a number of parents that are unable to tell their own kids that they are wrong. We have college Professors that grew up in the 1960’s and railed against authority and “older” people that are now the authority and older. But that’s not important right now.
They hate the structure that the family represents.
For the left, everything goes and anything that restricts their ability to express themselves is a threat.
Effective, successful, families will likely represent people who will likely be successful and not stuck on welfare, in other words, conservative.
