Pence Buckles Under Powerful Gay/Media Blitzkrieg
Breitbart ^ | March 30, 2015 | Austin Ruse

Posted on 03/31/2015 10:04:47 AM PDT by Cincinatus' Wife

Governor Mike Pence of Indiana seems to have caved into enormous pressure and will ask the state legislature for new legislation to make it clear that Christian florists and bakers could be forced to participate in weddings that violate their religious beliefs.

Last week, Indiana joined 19 other states and the federal government by enacting a law to protect religious believers from governmental encroachment on religious freedom. Such legislation was cited in the recent Supreme Court Hobby Lobby decision that determined religious employers could not be forced to supply abortion drugs to employees under ObamaCare.

In a packed press conference this morning, Pence did not give specifics about what the new legislation would say, only that he wants it to make clear that “Indiana businesses will not be able to discriminate against anyone for any reason.” He said the religion freedom bill he signed was never considered by him or the bill’s sponsors to allow a “license to discriminate.”

Such legislation has been read as supporting businesses and individuals not just to avoid supplying abortion drugs, but also allowing certain businesses to avoid serving gay weddings, usually bakers and photographers some who are now being run out of business for refusing to serve what they see as a religious ceremony that violates their own deeply held beliefs.

Pence and the state of Indiana absorbed a tsunami of protest from the main stream media, major corporations, athletes, movie stars and gay leaders after enacting the bill......

....Social conservatives, a base Pence would need if he tries to make it through the GOP primaries, were immediately upset.

Columnist Robert Knight tells Breitbart News, “Mr. Pence would do well to find out what Scott Walker had for breakfast when he faced down union mobs, the media and the ruling elites.”....

there has been very little in the way of detailed explanation, at least in the many discussions I've heard on radio and TV

Can't argue with you about that. I had to dig pretty hard to find anything on the real issue... several written articles.

Walker has been cornered on the immigration/illegal immigration issue. That was last week’s main ‘gotcha’.

You'll get things like "blind-sided" and "never saw it coming." That's because Walker doesn't telegraph his movements (he tells him his personal beliefs and they are rock solid conservative); he doesn't give the Left fodder so that they can rally their mob - the media, the "educators," the unions - he doesn't lead with his chin, he just leads.

Please, do tell.

When can we expect your "rock-solid conservative" to start mentioning that the Gay Marriage issue is about States Rights and that States DO HAVE the right to define Marriage?

When can we expect your "rock-solid conservative" to state that Wisconsin, Indiana, and any state MUST protect the individual rights of free association and religious liberties? When will he speak up and state clearly and unequivocally that States MUST defend the rights of Business Owners and their consciences when they choose NOT TO SERVE homosexuals?

I've got news for you. He Won't.

Not just social media. The MSM have been rabid dogs while they ignore their own messiah ripping up the constitution and while this conforms the constitution.

Of all the problems we face the media thinks this is law which protects the 1st amendment and the federal law is a massive issue

There is no words to describe what is happening and how the media are acting.

....I wonder who is next to self-eliminate?

Well, I'm not willing to over myself up to the mob.

Why not be SMART in how we take on this mob?

For starters, Big Education has established a cult of anti-American zombies, programed to react to trigger words that bring up anger against us. It's time to bring these people back "home" and that won't happen when we let the Left lead us around by the nose and cause us to trip all over our feet.

I don't care how the media is behaving manc.

Christian and Social conservatives need leadership NOW, not when the time is opportune for Scott Walker.

Again (and it never helps when I post text with links because you and a few other posters never read it or just ignore it and just repeat your lies), Walker is pro-life, marriage is between a man and a woman (taken all through the courts as far as they could go). He's all about states' rights.

You just don't know or don't care to know the facts.

Why is that?

What shocks me most is that this is almost a carbon copy of RFRA signed by their boy Clinton in the 90s. Hypocrisy personified. Lordy!

WI did not bother to appeal the court ruling in favor of “gay marriage”, right?

You are the last person I’d go to for advice on how to take back the country.

You’d have us all taken out.

You wouldn’t know leadership if it walked up and said hello.

No I agree. Pence should have stood up and told the media to stop acting like fools and stop lying by pushing their own agenda and the homosexual agenda.

This was a manufactured crisis by the media. They would have no problems with a Dem doing it just like when Bush went to war the marches and protests were all about but now the fairy in chief gets power they have all put their protests away

Go back and count the number of Walker-immigration threats from last week.

WI did not bother to appeal the court ruling in favor of “gay marriage”, right?

Oct 6, 2014: "Without explanation, the U.S. Supreme Court on Monday rejected appeals from Wisconsin and four other states seeking to preserve their same-sex marriage bans, setting up an immediate and historic return for those unions here but leaving unanswered the broader question of the practice at the national level.

In the order, the high court provided no breakdown of how the nine justices had voted and no reason for rejecting the appeals from Wisconsin Attorney General J.B. Van Hollen and officials in the states of Indiana, Oklahoma, Utah and Virginia. The action surprised legal observers by signaling that the nation's highest court favors the side of same-sex marriage advocates but without actually stating that or establishing a precedent for the rest of the nation.

The court's order allows gay marriage in Wisconsin and these other states, said Van Hollen and Gov. Scott Walker, the top state Republican officials who had sought to preserve the ban. Walker, a defendant in Wisconsin's case, said he would work to implement the decision and Van Hollen encouraged others to respect it, as well.

"For us, it's over in Wisconsin," Walker said of the fight over same-sex unions. "Others will have to talk about the federal level." Source

If Walker is so Pro-Life and Marriage between a man and a woman, why did he state the fight against gay marriage was over in Wisconsin?

Why did he not continue the fight?

Why did HE NOT correctly, at that time, state that this was STILL an issue for the states to decide and that he would carry on the fight, including supporting the issue in the US Legislature if necessary?

If he wants to lead, LEAD!

Otherwise, he needs to give up now and just sit on the sidelines.

I just received the following email from an old and dear friend who taught school back when teaching school meant the “Three R’s” and DID NOT include Marxist political correctness indoctrination. I pass it along as possible food for thought for those of us who grasp the “end game” of this perniciously pestilential process.
“Dick, on this ‘Freedom of Religion’ law:
I think most people get the word ‘religion’ confused in their thinking——we have many people here of other religions.
If their religion required them to close their business at sundown  and there were people of other faiths who wanted to do business with them, would they have to open for those who want to do business with them?
Dick, where is the country that I once lived in many, many years ago?
Mary”
To which I replied:
Mary, The country in which you and I grew up has been hijacked by a consortium of lownoinfo voters (thank you government schools and the Marxists now running them) and venal, self-serving politicians who believe that if they either remain silent to the ongoing “transformation” (much of the GOP) or aid and abet the process (ALL the Dems who are now indistinguishable from the Stalinists who captured Russia), they will be elevated to princes in the new regime.
Ernst Rohm and the others who assisted Hitler in his conquest of Germany held similar beliefs. He was rewarded with a bullet in the head in a prison cell. His associates died in “The Night of the Long Knives”, the lucky ones killed outright, the unlucky ones slowly strangled hanging from hooks like so many butchered cattle.
What these current fools and accomplices of this new tyranny fail to understand is that the history of tyranny is filled with such stories. The tyrant will not tolerate the existence of ANY groups or individuals who might come to threaten his tyranny.

“ALL men lose when freedom fails and good men rot in filthy jails.  And those who cried “Appease, appease” are HANGED by those they sought to please.”

Love to you and yours as we enter perhaps the most dangerous 660 days in our lifetime.
Dick

You’re impossible. You cherry pick and attack. You don’t care about all the facts.

There is nothing gained but bumping the thread when responding to you.

We need to educate the public about the truth, which is hard to do when they think we’re the problem.

We need to work on that.
