Indiana Pizzeria Receives Over $100,000 in Donations After Media Backlash Over Anti-Gay Comments
The Wrap ^ | April 2, 2015 | By Greg Gilman

Memories Pizza owner Crystal O’Connor previously said, “If a gay couple came in and wanted us to provide pizzas for their wedding, we would have to say no”

Memories Pizza, the Indiana restaurant that temporarily closed on Wednesday due to backlash resulting from its public refusal to cater same-sex weddings, has had a major reversal of fortune.

Over 3,600 people have banded together to “relieve the financial loss endured by the proprietors’ stand for faith” and raised a total of $108,555 in just 17 hours through crowdfunding site GoFundMe.

Memories Pizza, “a proud Christian establishment,” took the national spotlight on Wednesday after owner Crystal O’Connor told a local ABC affiliate “we would have to say no” to a gay couple if they asked to buy a large number of pizzas for their wedding.

The business, however, said if a gay couple stepped into the restaurant, they wouldn’t be denied service — although, it’s likely gay patrons will avoid making memories at Memories all together. . .

They need to stand by their convicitons and to make the statement that it is not a sin to feed someone who comes in for a meal, but it is a sin to partake in their sinful activity such as a wedding and violate our faith should we accept the offer to cater the wedding- . And Busiensses should have the right to post a sign that says anyone is free to eat at the shop, but they are not free to demand that the shop participate in any sinful behavior

we do still have rights in this country, at least for now, but it is becoming very apparent that courts are trying to refuse the rights of Christians by falsely declaring that a Christian exercising their right NOT to be forced to be engaged in an activity which violates their religious conscience is discriminating against the ‘right’ (apparently) of the gay person, or atheist, or Satanist or whatever, to demand that the Christian violate their conscience by catering their activities.

As Pence said “Is tolerance of beliefs a one way street only’ (Or something akin to this)

The sick thing is that if this gets to the supreme court, dear leader will demand that they find in favor of the plaintiffs and john Roberts will comply most likely, so that it becomes a ‘hate crime’ for a Christian to object to anything anymore

What next? Pro Choice ilk demanding a Christian bakery bake a cake in the shape of an aborted fetus? Pedophiles demanding that bakery to bake them a cake celebrating the abomination of pedophilia? Rapists demanding cakes celebrating the crime of rape? Where does it stop once you violate the right of the Christian business to refuse to do business that violates it’s right to object?

Yes a good ending.

I don’t know how this would work, but if the owners could take some of that funding and create a ministry with their pizza business targeting the homosexual community. This would be a ministry, unforced and from the heart. Something like free pizzas with Christian themes such as bible tracs about salvation and sin. Make big deal out of it. I bet they wouldn’t get any takers. But the overall message might be interesting regarding a non-forced, from the heart, pizza ministry to homosexuals.

[[house of cards is falling apart, the media, the MSNBCs, etc., the press, the Democrat Party. etc. is heading for toastville!!!]]

If only that were true- This crap has been going on for a great many years, centuries really- Yes it’s much worse now, but there seems to be no end in sight, and it seems the left are just getting stronger and stronger- they are now openly defying the constitution and people’s rights, and even the supreme court is backing htem up now-

My folks used to say “The tide will eventually turn, it can’t go on forever, it alwaysd makes a turn at some point” and I used to like to have faith that it would

But over the years, I’ve come to think that perhaps uit won’t becaue it’s not in God’s plan for it to concerning the end times and how the ‘man of lawlessness’ must be let loose where right becomes wrong, and evil is seen as good- We certainly seem to be steaming right into just such a scenario- especially in the last 6 years, and it certainly seems that the majority of Americans now agree with what the left are doing- They certainly vote for it TWICE

I do hope you’re right, but I have my doubts- the bible tells us not to be surprised by the evil we see coming because it ‘must happen’ in order for the end times to occure

So let’s say a gay person comes in for some benign legal assistance. Say a property boundary dispute.

But another comes in to file suit against Chick-Fil-A for not hosting a gay wedding.

Would you help the former and not the latter?

Depends on the boundary dispute. If the boundary dispute was against the PCA, I'd probably decline. If it were against the PCUSA, I might do it pro bono.

In the other case, I'd tell them to find someone else and if I knew of a totally incompetent boob of an attorney, I might recommend they try him. 😊

It is always a mistake to believe that rights come from the government, or are permitted by the government. Rights are innate. They can not be granted by the government. You do not need a permit to exercise your freedom of speech, you simply speak. The government can attempt to curtail those rights, but only succeeds if you accept their taking those rights.

The government is on a national campaign, one courtroom at a time, to take the rights of many away. It is up to us to not accept these decisions and rulings and laws and to continue to exercise our innate rights.

Choosing not to participate in a ceremony is a right. And every time a flower shop owner is ordered to give in to these demands, we need to stand with that owner, and assert the rights that we will not give up to the government.

Walkerton, In. There aren’t exactly catering services on every corner. It’s about as fly over country as you can get.

“I’m thinking that when the place reopens that people who want to support the business should call them up and arrange to pay for Pizza Days at the local convalescent hospitals or homeless shelters.
That way she gets business and not charity.”

Notre Dame is 20 miles up the road. And the news station was ABC57 out of South Bend. Can we look for the Catholic flagship university to offer them a game concession? ANd it would be nice if ND would freeze out ABC 57 from pressboxes, any media contact, everything. NO need to issue a statement. Just no longer answer their calls, and do not allow them onto your property.

This is VERY good news! It throws a huge finger at the homosexual lobby trying to oppress/destroy these honest and innocent Christians. I hope they soon raise the “target” fundraising goal substantially. Here’s the link for folks wanting to contribute a bit:

Don't know how long the word has been out, but it hasn't been out that long. The church groups probably haven't even had time to take up a collection yet.
Hopefully the donations will continue to roll in for days as the word continues get around.
The good people in this country are awesome.

It is indeed...but only if that great movie had some “bah, humbug” types standing around the periphery trying to discourage folks from donating.
