GOV JERRY BROWN: CALIFORNIANS TO BE HEAVILY FINED FOR LONG SHOWERS
Breitbart ^ | April 5, 2015 | Pam Key

Posted on 04/05/2015 3:36:45 PM PDT by MeshugeMikey

Sunday on ABC’s “This Week,” Gov. Jerry Brown (D-CA) said Californians will face heavy fines for taking long showers.

Brown said, “This executive order is done under emergency power. It has the force of law. Very unusual. It’s requiring action and changes in behavior from the Oregon border all the way to the Mexican border. It affects lawns. It affects people’s — how long they stay in the shower. How businesses use water.”

Brown said to enforce his order, “Each water district that actually delivers waters — water to homes and businesses, they carry it out. We have a state water board that overseas the relationships with the districts. Hundreds of them. If they don’t comply, people can be fined $500 a day. Districts can go to court to get a cease and desist order. The enforcement mechanism is powerful. In a drought of this magnitude, you have to change that behavior and you have to change it substantially.”

They are pouring mega millions into plants although the technology didn’t make it feasible until recently so not all that is the governor’s fault...

Why does a semi arid state supply vegetables, that can grow in all parts of the country more than half the year, supply the rest of the country?

The Late Great state of California as we called it when I lived in Washington, whose leadership did plan better than those down south.

“Disease.”

I don’t understand that... How do you get a disease from yourself? People who sit in bathtubs don’t seem to have a problem.

If that were going to be a problem, put an UV filter in the recycle line. They use them in fish tanks to kill microbes...

We have six people living here. Now, some are kids and happy not to shower for weeks. However, how does the water co know how many people are in the house?

Here is an example of a common, routine, and very basic version of a shower in nice homes, in Southern California.

The plumbing can look something like this, especially if they get into the really high water consuming shower environments.

Your secret is safe. I do the same.

I’m on a septic tank and the grey water is recycled. Of course if I ever sell my house, I’ll have to reroute to the septic tank. It isn’t up to “code” the way it is. Heaven forbid you reuse that water for something!

As long as you don’t use commercial laundry cleaners and softeners and stuff.

Good luck with that, and legionaries disease and of dirty water being sent through the floor drain back up through your shower head, I wouldn’t do it, and I could if I wanted to.

We want the last rinse to be clean water, not the water we just bathed with.

I’ll tell you what would be the best invention...

A shower water valve with a pushbutton on/off switch. I have no problem with shutting the water off whilst soaping up and then turning it on again to rinse (this was required for showers when I was on a submarine)...except that it sucks having to readjust the cold and hot water to get the temp right when turning the water back on—to the point where I don’t turn the water off.

If there was a valve with an off switch, so that you didn’t have to readjust water temp when you turn the water back on, this would not be a problem. Maybe there already is such a device...don’t know, but it would save a heck of a lot of water.

Former California Assemblyman Tim Donnelly brings us up to date on the current state of affairs under Governor Jerry “Moonbeam” Brown:

“Never forget the mantra of the guru of leftists like Brown, or Rahm Emanuel, in the Saul Alinksy tradition: never let a good crisis go to waste, and if you don’t have one, create one.

So in response to Jerry Brown’s massive mismanagement of our most precious natural resource—water—the governor has ordered you to conserve 25% or there will be hell to pay. Mandatory conservation or you will face fines or even have your water cut off.

Not dams, not water storage, not desalinization and God forbid, not cutting off those damned fish, who require us to flush millions of acre feet out to sea. It’s you who needs to change.”

Jerry Brown wants to turn California brown again.

“The draconian water conservation measures Brown is imposing could easily have been avoided. But liberals always think in terms of coercively dividing a fixed pie, rather than allowing people to bake more pies.

Instead of fast-tracking the construction of critically-needed dams, and immediately diverting excess water from running off to the ocean and using it to fill up our lakes and reservoirs for storage, he’s done nothing in his five years despite the fact that Democrats have had absolute control over every aspect of state government for all that time.

Under the environmentalists’ thumb, Brown’s been content to allow our rivers to run at full flow to the ocean so that fish can enjoy themselves while farmers are dying–wasting enough water every year to irrigate millions of acres of now decimated farmland, and provide enough water for millions of urban households.”
